Thank you, but this is like confirming that water is wet.
I'm not seeing how to get just the phone to use with my current number. Looks to be bundled with 12 months service for 489 or 789.

If that works for you, more power to you, although I', not sure why you'd even waste time with this thread then.
I've done various things with android phones - cheapies/freebies, oddball brands (the ZTE Axon 7 was amazing and a true bargain), 2 year-old flagships, and brand new top of the line models. I don't play games much anymore but I need storage space, a good camera that's usable in low light, and I'm hooked on fancy AMOLED screens, so low-end phones are not for me anymore, unfortunately. My phone is essential for my business, so I want to ask my accountant about paying for the next one with my company card and see if he freaks out or thinks I can get away with that being my personal phone, since tax deductions always help a little.
The a35 or a54 checks all those boxes. Not claiming it's as good as a flagship phone, but it's very capable.
- AMOLED, bright, big screen.
- Night mode camera
- SD card slot
- About 1/3 the price of a flagship. Sometimes nearly free when locked to mvnos.

Honestly, I don't know why I look anymore either. Loved my Pixel 5a and was kinda hoping the 9 would have super deals like the old pre release pixel 8 deals from spectrum, but isn't looking like it.

P9 looks like a very nice phone, especially if you're an AI enthusiast, but also pricey.

T-Mobile bought Mint Mobile, uses T-Mobile network. The pixel 9 is $899 on T-Mobile website. So do a locked mint Mobile phone work on T-Mobile? $399 is one helluva deal.

I think it's locked on Mint for 2 months then after it's unlocked you can use with any network

I just talked to customer service and they confirmed what all the text says -- that you need to port in a number.

You could manufacture something like this, but it's not for existing members.

If only I can take advantage of two Amex Offers but they don't allow split payment and can't pay with wallet funds.

You have to sign into your account, on the left menu, under Add ons, choose Shop New Phones, it should be there.

Yes, I can go to the last step "place order" without any requirement of port in number.

There's a good amount at $500-$550. At least in Bay Area.
