Thank you, but this is like confirming that water is wet.
I'm not seeing how to get just the phone to use with my current number. Looks to be bundled with 12 months service for 489 or 789.

While I agree that 128gb is too small for me, I think it does work for a majority of people just fine, because so many people don't buy and hoard music and keep copies on their phones, they're happy just streaming everything. I've only had an unlimited data plan for the past few months and finally subscribed to Tidal, but I do still have hundreds of gigs of music. In any case, I'm glad we have options, and there are good choices that fit everyone's situation, but finding the right one for the right price is the trick.

The Sony Xperia 1 VI looks slick as hell (despite Sony's awful naming system) and even has a microSD slot. Too bad we'll probably never see it discounted heavily. I'll probably keep the Oneplus 11 until I see a good price and finally cave for the 12 or a Pixel 9 Pro, but I've become pretty brand agnostic.
Too many companies seem to copy the retarded apple movements when it comes to phone features (notch, rom space, removal of headphone jack, removal of microsd)... A company's greed does not equate to all of users needs. They get away with too many greedy tactics that a lot of people don't seem to mind... Look how much phones are... A new phone a year, what is the actual value then...Just nonsense

This seems to be a very, very good deal, for very specific people.
I might be one of them, I was looking at a pixel 9 only because I have an 8 with the green screen/pink line problem that pops up periodically. I had upgraded most of the pixels from previous pixels mainly because the trade in and/or bonus deals were usually pretty or even really good (even giving gift cards or free earbuds only 50% of their value). The trade-ins this year have not been as good, no free earbuds or watches anywhere, gift cards are ok but then they only give you enough trade in to still make it a $400-500 upgrade (at least 8 to 9 - non pro).

I am currently on mint, and the pixel 8 has a ~$250 trade in value which makes this about $150 plus tax. Has anyone found this particular trade any cheaper? I'm planning on sticking with mint anyway and really wanted to get rid of my 8 after I get the screen replaced (for free).

You have phone that is less than a year old with major problems, and yet you are returning to the brand. Interesting. Statistics say most aren't so forgiving.

My amex has a $45 back when spending $90 on Mint service.

Should be stackable with this - you are required to pay $90 for Mint service with this deal.
I do have the AE offer, but it says "wireless plan ", Does the phone ($399) count as "wireless plan "? If not I only spend $89 and will not meet the offer requirements.......

Currently this indeed is the cheapest way to upgrade from 8 to 9. You could wait till BF maybe but it is always risky to hope for a future deal..
