I have a feeling it is a battery killer. Certain tools must be hardwired

Why not just use a 1200 or 1500 watt hair dryer
Hair dryer is not even close to a heat gun temperature.
Hair dryer temperature 200f
Heat gun temperature 930f

I carry one in my work truck, the locks on the rear cap always freeze. I don't have this model, I picked up the Craftsman version at Lowes on clearance for $40. But I am still looking for the Kobalt one to go on clearance. It's better than the Craftsman, and I have more batteries for that model.

Talk to manager got the display model. 10% off too. Told them purchase most my Bosch tool from Lowe's. Needed a cordless heat gun & don't want to invest in another brand. They don't plan to order more

Can this be locked on so the trigger doesn't need to be held?

That sounds like a dangerous feature to have.

I wouldn't think it'd be that much more dangerous than a plug-in one, all of which stay on without depressing a trigger. I do believe there are some battery powered ones that have trigger locks.
