I got four of these on the last round. Ran full surface test, long smart test etc. No errors. Power on time was about 3-1/2 years for three of them, less than I expected. Running solid in two of my NASes, rotated into the raid arrays so they're pretty much 75% full from the beginning. No issues for the past month.

Probably need to snag a few as spares.

I think the headline here is that they offer a 5 year warranty on these. I've not needed to try this yet but I've read some other users say they've had good experiences getting this fulfilled.
Any 3.5" USB SATA enclosure should work fine. Choose USB-C if you have the option on your computer for a bit more speed, but USB 3.0 should be fine as well considering this is a regular spinning hard drive. Also FYI - these 3.5" size drives will require an external power brick, so it's not going to be something you can power via USB only.
Got one of these last sale for $74. Came well packed, no issues with it so far but only filled it 25%.

It's pretty quiet, other people say it's a loud drive, I think they say that because it vibrates more than other drives I have and depending on your case that could make a lot more noise from the case.

Same for me for their 16TB drive purchased from their website.
Ordered 9/1
Label created 9/3
Arrived at USPS 9/5
Weirdly, mine went straight from label created to arrived at my regional distribution center today. They're supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I guess it was weirdness with USPS and not the seller.

Does this company normally take a long time to ship? I ordered on 9/1, they posted tracking early on 9/3, but it's still just saying label created.

Did you save the Report (which lists the slow sectors)? Did you format the drive before running the test? Depending on how slow they were, I might spot test them. However, they're probably fine, especially if the drive was formatted.

Thanks for that. I just ordered the DS224+ today (couldn't pass up the $239 price), and glad these work fine. I am going to order 2. I want to setup a NAS at home for photos and video backup from our phones and tablets.
I saw that DS224+ deal. I am SO tempted to buy a 2nd one, that is a GREAT deal. Congrats.

If you think you might install a lot of apps on it, I recommend adding memory. I am using this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F6N8L3S/

any recommendation for budget NAS? I want to retire my aging D-Link DNS-323, it's working perfectly but only able to take 2x 4TB HDD max with custom firmware, and only 100Mbps transfer speed. Or is it better just to build an ultra budget PC for this purpose? I have some old unused PC parts laying around.
if you want the hobby experience of building your own, maybe you can do it for less money, but my recommendation is the DS224+ deal posted in here for about $240. It is a fantastic unit. Highly recommend.

No, I didn't think to save the actual report, just that screen shot. I ran the test just after initializing the drive in the disk management console (Win11) and I didn't format a volume before that.
Thanks for your help!

Per Crystal Disk Info, the health status is 'Good' but should I be concerned about these?
- Reallocated Sectors Count: 100 (current)
- Uncorrectable Sector Count: 100 (current).
Thank you.

Yes, have them replace it. Reallocated sectors are no good

i don't know why my computer is not detecting it. my computer is about 11 years old, but it shouldn't matter. none of the hard drive utility is detecting it (hard disk sentinel, minitool partition, crystalinfo, WD acronis (the ebay receipt says it's a WD drive??)

Even my bios is not detecting the HD, i'm out of ideas, help?

UPDATE: using an external docking station, the utilities do detect the drive. not sure why direct connection doesn't work. i even used good cables from a DVD drive to make sure...

NOW new issue is the external docking station has a 2TB limitation...

Did you try using the extension cable they included in the box? It's possible your system doesn't support Power Disable Mode, and the cable will bypass that.
