I am trying to figure out why I would need this? Maybe for speed traps in Waze that the normal nav does not have? I mean live traffic is in my Tesla Nav now, and all the major music platforms as well. Maybe for locally stored music? What do others use a mount for in their Tesla?

Yeah I use something similar in X. It's the perfect mount, much much better than those using 3M double tape.

I for sure do not take teams meetings, nor use the phone in landscape mode for things that the tesla display can't display. Also mine has a built in magsafe charger so it charges the phone and I can still not scroll through my "news feeds" which i do not do.

You want ones that charges the phone too.

Yes. I had similar ones for my Tesla model 3P. I bought two different kinds on AliExpress who are essentially the same thing as what you have here but cheaper. First I bought the magsafe one which clip to the airvent for $1.79 and that goes onto my wife car. Then I saw the Tesla screen mount, without the magnetic head and bought that one for $6.79. And I have the end result of combining the magnetic head from $1.79 one with just the Tesla screen mount. So total $8.58.

Usage: the Tesla screen mount is made with metal with padding on the clamps which clamp onto the screen. Magnet is strong. If you plan on setting the phone to the left side of the screen, it can fall off after a while due to weight (vibration of car eventually loosen the grip). Mine is Samsung S23 ultra phone. So now I change to have the phone sitting on top of the screen, just above left side of screen which shows speed and traffic and it stay well. I am satisfied with the overall quality at this price $8.58. That is equivalent to the $13 one sold from OP list.

I have a few from that I bought from te*u. Works really well. Better than the traditional mounts. Only paid $5 for those.

i use Apple CarPlay with a mounted mirror screen. don't want to pay for premium connectivity. besides, apple car play is much better for me than tesla infotainment.

Waze is one the biggest reasons. But Tesla's Infotainment is still lacking quite a few popular streaming apps. I still use Siriux, Pandora, and RadioApp for example. Its also useful for video (which doesn't work while the car is gear) and messaging apps like Telegram and WhatsApp.

Finally, I dont have this specific dash mount. But the one I have has 15W MagSafe charging enabled. Its awesome to have my phone up high where I can easily see alerts & notifications.. and when I get out the car my phone is always charged up more than it was when I left the house. I also find the factory wireless charging pads to be completely useless in my Model Y, as they are slow to charge and as soon as you turn a corner, the phone slides off to the side of the charging coil on the pad. So you arrive at your destination with a phone that hasn't charged up at all.

I've tried this ugreen mount (which uses tension) and the Spigen which uses adhesive. The Spigen one fell off after a few months. In hot weather, any mount using adhesive is eventually going to fall off. I've had no issues w/ the ugreen mount.

Because of Tesla's failure to create a UI as good as android auto or carplay, this is required. POS Tesla infotainment sucks. Not paying for premium connectivity for horrible service worse than Carplay

I got one thinking it would be sweet, but its too far to really access the phone comfortably. I'm a tall guy and sit far back though. I ended up getting a drink holder magsafe style mount for day to day, I did leave on the other because it comes in handy for long road trips when I want to run waze as well as tesla nav.

I am sure you also do not use PornHub as it requires landscape mode.Wink
