Do you guys have a set list of dumb little comments you can use to bump your own threads, or are you required to make them up each time you do it?

This product has an average rating of X.X stars across 1000 reviews!
This is still in stock and 27% cheaper than the previous front page deal!

It's bad enough you guys post so much garbage, bumping threads when they're not generating enough revenue per hour is salt in the wounds. Why not let the users drive the deals on this 'user-driven site'?

Hi tstarks Smilie Not speaking to this deal specifically, but more to your comment in general. One of the biggest (and probably the best) benefit to posting deals is to see people are excited about it, and that they are saving money. But the fact has been, as long as I have been a user anyway, that bumping a thread is almost always integral to getting it more exposure. Even if it is just for a few seconds at the top of hot deals.

Deal Hunters (or other deal posting community members) don't bump all threads, just ones that they think could otherwise get lost in the shuffle. They could just use Bump , but why not make the bump contain pertinent information related to the deal?

Anyway, I was brought on as staff in 2012. This thread is from 2011, from when I was a community member (user). At the time, I had a streak of 6 frontpage deals going, and it seemed I could never get beyond 6. While I might normally only bump my thread once, I was so desperate that I bumped the thread 8 times!! I didn't get frontpage and the streak was broken Frown

But the point is, its 13+ years later, thread bumping is/was sometimes just a part of deal posting. Like peanut butter goes with jelly Smilie
