EDIT: It actually did count just took a while to credit.
Now, how do I get out? I want to close the account and take the cash.
- The account has a minimum balance of $500 to avoid fees. Do I need $500 in at closing, or do I withdraw to zero before closing?
- They have a $3.00 outgoing ACH fee. I think I can avoid this by originating the ACH at the other bank.

An ATM card can't be used for online purchases, and cannot be used without your PIN, making it more secure. It can still be used to pay in many (but not all) brick-and-mortar stores, provided their reader handles ATM pay.
I know most debit cards have fraud protection, but that protection is different from credit cards in one important way. You don't ask for fraud protection on a debit card until the fraudster has already cleared you out.
On a credit card, you haven't paid them yet. That is a much better position to be in.
If I do this, I'll make the 15 transactions, then shred the card.

Truist customer service does suck. I agree. My recollection was that when I had a problem they told me to go to the branch, couldt' do it over the phone. Then went to the branch and they made me sit there and wait while they were on the phone with them, and had long hold times. I can't reset my online password because they must have my info wrong when i tried to reset it.. so now i ahve to go in.. damn they suck. I did sign up with them years ago so i'm ready to get this money again.
You can use Monzo (online bank) and withdraw your money using your truist debit card
and it's instant. You can also get $15 to your monzo card by being referred by me, and you instantly get a virtual card if i recall correctly. And the actual debit card comes in the mail in 7 to 10 days i think. I signed up, then put the money into the monzo savings and kept $2 in the debit account for 30 day free trials.. It's also handy if you want to withdraw money from your bank and get around the atm limit, just transfer some to monzo and use both cards to get out the money. Again if you want a referral for the $15 send me a private message and i'll send it to you.
instead of checkign i see
Truist One Money Market Account
or
Truist One Savings
both require a $50 dep
EDIT: Nevermind, those are just additional accounts they offer, you can skip those
