A 1500 x 2100 image will get you best results for 5x7.
You want to make sure your image has a resolution of 300ppi so that the 300dpi printer outputs a crisp image.

Add empty space with photo editing software to preserve the resolution.
I used https://www.photopea.com/ to create a 1500x2100 canvas and filled up the space.
You will get bad results if you submit a low or overly high resolution photo to be printed.

Nice deal OP, but the print quality at my local Walgreens was unacceptable on these. Must be something specific with their magnet prints, because most other types of prints are fine.

The CVS magnet print quality was much better with the same exact photo. Will have to return for refund on these using their satisfaction guarantee:
