I just bought the 39" OLED LG from the other LG thread and I will never ever go back to anything less than OLED. The color production is on whole another level with oled panels.....especially for gaming. I'm seeing colors/textures in CoD and Elden Ring that I never noticed with my older IPS 32" monitor.

Well, all ultrawides in that range are 1440 because of the dimensions. In fact, the ONLY ultrawide that's 4k is the 57" Samsung Neo G9, because its screen is taller than the others. It'll probably be a few years before that changes, because there's not a lot of hardware that can run at that resolution. Even the 4090 gets somewhat lower FPS on it.
What about the productivity for these? I heard OLED burn in and not good for up close with the pixels showing if your like 2 feet away. LG is coming out in Q4 with new models so I'm holding out maybe to see. I can't believe they make these huge monitors with 1440p still. That's why I like my 4k 32" monitor still but wish I had bigger with 4k still. Even a 45"

Bought one, just need it for work productivity. I don't game and I don't need an OLED. Sucks that tax is on the full amount. Picking up at a local Bestbuy which is convenient.

Nope stop pushing this, VA monitors have terrible ghosting. I couldn't stand my Samsung g7 even on red dead redemption 2. Either IPS or oled
Sorry that you had ghosting, but I have several VA monitors and never get ghosting. If the monitor is correctly set up with refresh rate and sync technology, you should never have ghosting. To me it sounds like a configuration issue.

Dell has a 5k2k 40" ultrawide but it's limited to 120fps. Model U4025QW.

yeah the dual-UHD is a very nichy mkt and it wont change over time. the 57 is a huge monitor, not many people wants to have that.

As someone that doesn't want multiple monitors... and I am mainly an office worker (with a sprinkle of The Sims) - This will be fine(??) since it isn't OLED - read many threads of OLEDs not being the right fit for Text applications (as opposed to moving images, i.e. video).

Also the big curve (1000R, right?) is good for this scenario as IPS/OLED can't curve as much - VA can

It not just like a single 1440p monitor. It's like having two of them side by side. So the resolution is 5120x1440 not 2560x1440. I love my neo g7 4k 32 inch and plan to use it as well.

Wish this was 45" or 49". The problem with 45 or 49 at 1440p is the pixels if you sit 2 feet away I'd say.

I get that but then why do people complain about the pixels? I have a 32" 4k and I feel moving to the 1440p that it will never be mirror to mirror quality since 4k has more screen space.

When is a better resolution 49" coming out or 45"? Who really thinks these are great quality… 1440p for a 49" really and able to see pixels.
If people are fine with 27 inch qhd ,then they will be fine with 49 inch g9. Both 27 inch qhd and this g9 have 110 ppi. Unless you go 4k monitor then I doubt there's anything that has higher ppi than this

I'm just worried if I move to a 45" or 49" 1440p that it will never be the same as my 32" 4k. I don't see any pixels now and mainly use for productivity.

I think it's based on personal preference and also how far they sit from the monitor. For me I switched from 27 inch 4k IPS to 4k mini led then downgraded ( in term of PPI) to 34 inch 1440p oled and I don't have any problem with it. It's less sharp at first but tbh not that much worse and eventually I just got used to it.
