I just bought the 39" OLED LG from the other LG thread and I will never ever go back to anything less than OLED. The color production is on whole another level with oled panels.....especially for gaming. I'm seeing colors/textures in CoD and Elden Ring that I never noticed with my older IPS 32" monitor.

I own this monitor. These are being clearanced because the new d version is coming out. Or may already be available. As others have said it is a great monitor but there are considerations.

It is not ideal for productivity. OLED of any type can suffer burn in. There are mitigationd you can use but it is not ideal for static images for 8 hours or longer.

The aspect ratio is not ideal for productivity. I concur that a 34-in or even 38-in would be better.

For gaming it is amazing! The colors are phenomenal the depth is amazing. The refresh rate and clarity are great. It however is not ideal for console gaming due to the aspect ratio. You can look up details of this online. This is really ideal for PC gaming. For best frame rate and high quality settings you will want a 3080/4080 or higher GPU or equivalent AMD graphics card.

As far as reliability. As others have stated, quality control is very poor. Talk to the representative via chat when you purchase. They can add the Samsung extended warranty coverage for a "fair" price. And also probably get an additional $50 discount. If you ask if there are any other discounts. YMMV

On a previous deal I was able to get the extended warranty and the monitor for around 780 shipped.

If you know what you're getting and use it for the right purpose, PC gaming, it is a phenomenal monitor and you will not be disappointed. If you purchases for productivity I would recommend looking elsewhere there are much better alternatives. Cheers!

I thought that an aggressive curve is better for productivity since the edges are easy to see.

The more aggressive 1000r is so much better for productivity. Having an Excel 2-year monthly forecast from edge to edge and seeing it without turning your head is perfect. OP is totally wrong about this not being ideal for productivity. A 34" is never going to be better, as they have the same height (or less) and less width in their resolutions. The difference to a 38" is going to be down to type of work and preference. 49" is amazing for Excel and only the 57" is going to be better.

The only "productivity" users that say the curve is a hinderance seem to be photo/video editors. The coders usually are agnostic to curve and prefer more height in the resolution, which means leaning towards 4K monitors that don't need to be curved.
