"The ZeroWater water filter out-performed all other water filters we tested, easily earning the top spot in terms of performance.

Astonishingly, ZeroWater removed 100% of several elements (Aluminum, Strontium and Cesium) while removing over 99% of everything else, including lead and arsenic."

This performance is virtually unheard of in water filtration technologies, regardless of the manufacturer.

"The Pur water filter we tested performed poorly, removing relatively small amounts of most heavy metals and elements while actually increasing the concentration of aluminum in the filtered water."

I wish I had known this before buying a ZeroWater last month. Within 3 weeks, the water started tasting acidic. Seems like it might be accelerated if you have hard water. The TDS meter was still reading 0, so the filter was still technically good, but it's probably not great to drink acidic water regularly.

I just bought a Brita to replace it, but curious how this Pur compares.
I finished a few ZW filters, now I'm switching away from it. Its filter is $8-$10, can last only 1.5 months, more expensive than buying water from Costco.

This is pretty good. Once in a while you'll get a dud filter.

I agree. I bought ZeroWater recently and it's the worst tasting water ever.

Well I've had a zero water for years and it's the best tasting water. But, after a while the filter gets full and the water starts to smell fishy. Yes, fishy.
For the commenter whose water started tasting citrusy after 3 weeks while your TDS meter still ready zero...I'd guess your meter is broken. 3 weeks of filtering any water that's not already zero TDS is going to yield greater than zero TDS on the meter, much more so if your water originally reads something like 100 TDS or even 25 TDS.

For those comments about the water tasting weird with certain filters: Have you considered that your local municipality might be the problem?

All of these filters use relatively similar components. So aside from microplastics in the housing, they shouldn't be contributing anything toward the filtered water at all.

I've used mine nonstop for 6 years, never had a problem. I wash it for every, or at least most, filter changes. It fits well on the top shelf of my fridge. I may grab this though because along the way I've chipped the top lid and the bottom has had some wear.

ZeroWater is designed and owned by Culligan who's an industrial water filtration giant. Their ZW filters are superior to all other consumer grade filters due to the use of charged resin in their filters that few other if any consumer grade filters utilize. They are not all the same.
