It works well here in Southern California. It doesn't last as long as deet, but reapplying once a day is fine given that it doesn't have the negatives of deet, such as the horrible taste, the impact on animals and pets, and the unpleasant oily feeling.

Anyone wondering, this stuff smells very strong but it's pleasant and if you already have a few bites it's quite soothing. Used it camping late summer and it did a pretty good job.
