For this to work, your phone must:
- Work on the Verizon 4G/5G network with other carriers
- Have a physical SIM card slot (will not work for eSIM)
- Be unlocked so you can port it to other carriers
- Fail Spectrum's IMEI check (not really required, but no reason to do this if it passes the IMEI check)
It worked for my Tracfone/Samsung Galaxy a54.
Instructions:
1) Go to https://www.imei.info/google-imei-generator/
2) Generate an IMEI for a Google Pixel 6 Pro.
3) Sign up for the deal using that IMEI. They will ship a physical sim card for free.
4) Activate your phone using that card.
It's as easy as that. It worked. If it doesn't work for you, just cancel. No loss.
Great deal for me - I'm on a grandfathered $25/month internet plan, so for $25/mo, I'm getting high speed internet AND phone service!

EVERYBODY says that about every provider.
Google fiber you'll never find anyone with an issue
AT&T Fiber has also been absolutely topnotch and consistent
Spectrum? Dear lord. Outages once a week minimum. Poor connectivity during peak hours. Absolutely shitshow.

As for MNO and MVNO they're highly location dependent - they're all based off the big 3 towers so it's just a matter of coverage for phone service.

Not my experience.
I've been using them a long time, through two acquisitions (Bright house -> Charter -> Spectrum). Outages have never been frequent - they usually coincide with electricity outages. That's kinda expected.
Service has gradually gone downhill through the acquisitions (Bright house was fantastic)

I've had Tello and had nothing but good things to say. Especially like the data rollover feature
You may as well port over. You'd stand to gain more probably than what you're missing out on (half a month of service)

When you go to add the line, it tells you that you're phone is not compatible. There's always a catch with these morons.
I left Spectrum Mobile a few months ago, then got email last week saying they upgraded my home internet speed for free AND is giving me a free year of mobile service again. Haven't seen my internet speed go up yet (maybe it goes up next cycle?) but signed up for free mobile again. Took some time to ship the SIM but was able to receive it on the last day of my phone bill cycle and I ported in smoothly.
Read the earlier posts in this thread. I posted a workaround, if you have an unlocked phone that works with the Verizon network.
I see pixel 9 with discount but have no interest. S24U is my high end target and am willing to pay more for it, but it's only about $300 savings after trade in. Not great.
