Given that the market is only used 3090s and most were mined on (and some run 24/7 for AI which will also wear a card and its thermal pads etc down) a chance to get a NOS one isn't a bad idea if in the market. For everyone else 4070ti, 4080, even 7900xt/xtx are better value
Do a clean pop_os install and have local LLMs working in minutes (ollama + openwebui are 5 line installs). Plenty of decent quantized models can run on 24gb to evaluate, and tools like flowise and anythingllm are easy to set up. 3090 can run at low wattage (I've done 350, 320, 300,
280) for AI.
