I wonder who is paying for those 6 months of free ink plus the true manufacturing cost of the printer? Surely not the very same people who then have to buy ink for the printer after 6 months?

WTF ... you need a subscription for printers now?
I read on amazon for similar model 2755e that "HP will shut off your ability to use the printer if you don't pay for their subscription service."
