I don't think it has anything to do with "old school". I'm not spending $45 to own a useless transformer. They're called transformers, they should transform.

Also, if it could transform, then it would be dumb not to show that in the images or on the product page.

Because its Super7, they are not well known for making the highest quality stuff. Most of the action figures they make (until JUST recently) have all been locked 5 POA figures and not super high quality at that.
