Technically, it's "Free" with the AMEX Platinum. Not free: the $695 annual fee 😆. But the math maths for us to make that a good deal. We max out almost all perks and get about 2x the fee in value.
Will try SiriusXM for the car, by the time the trial period is up, we might have the "Click to Cancel" Law in effect. Below is a summary by Gemini:
"Yes, the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) proposed "click to cancel" rule is expected to be finalized by fall 2024. The rule will make it as easy to cancel a subscription as it is to sign up for one. For example, if a customer can sign up for a subscription online in three steps, they should be able to cancel it online in three steps as well."
I'm not holding my breath. Sadly, the regulatory framework that actually protects the average person from predatory corporations is being stripped away by judges appointed by a certain someone that people are gullible enough to vote for (again). Rules like click to cancel, banning dishonest/junk fees, capping prescription drugs/insulin, right to repair, banning non-competes in favor of free labor market, etc. won't even be introduced by an FTC appointed by this certain someone. And repeal of Chevron Doctrine means any rules with teeth are even less likely to come into force.
I'm curious, what does the Apple TV service provide/offer? is it a monthly subscription TV service, like YouTube TV, Roku, Philo, Hulu, etc.?
The reason that I ask, is because I have a brand new Apple TV 4k (2nd Gen, 2021) streaming device that has been sitting around and is still unopened, and I was just planning on trying to sell it/trade it for something else. However, if it may be something that would work with the Apple TV service and offer a good viewing experience, I may be tempted to keep it and try to use it.
If you wouldn't mind replying and giving some feedback about why you like Apple TV and what's good/great about it, I would appreciate it.
Yes, Apple TV is a subscription streaming service. The free version does ln't have much. The plus version is free for a month or more. Apple decides how often you get it for free. They have good content, e.g., Ted Lasso, but you may not want to pay for it year round. If you fire up your device, they may give you a few free months. The problem I had with the Apple TV device was the unique remote. The newer ones seem more conventional.
Same, I've tried multiple things on iPad and MacBook and it still doesn't work for Apple News and Apple Arcade. The other trials appear just not Apple's.
Same here. Just keep getting a circle and then bad gateway.
