+5 for this deal right out of the gate and with no comments is wild. This same PC is $778 from Lenovo themselves on eBay [ebay.com] right now. And there is an arguably better iBuyPower PC for $750 at Best Buy [bestbuy.com].

Nothing arguable about it, that iBuyPower PC is absolutely the better buy. Off the shelf parts, thus significantly more upgradeable plus it's $50 cheaper. Only negative is it seems to come with a single stick of 16 DDR5 instead of two 8GB sticks

Isn't lenovo also easily upgradeable? Like the mobo and psu? It's only Dell and Alienware that does the whole weird ass motherboards and stuff

I'm debating on this but I'd like to upgrade years down the road. I had trouble with my old Cyberpower PC where I swapped the mobo and it caused a lot of headaches.

If I get the iBuyPower PC, would that be an issue? Trying to see if it's easily upgradable PC later on.

They're both system integrators so they realistically do the same exact thing. They buy the same components we would and then pre-assemble them for customers who'd rather avoid the hassle and have a single warranty to worry about. When you swap motherboards though you really need to update the chipset drivers otherwise you're likely to experience instability issues

I'm looking to buy a PC sometime soon (before Christmas). Have you purchased an IBUYPOWER pc before. If so can you comment how they are for a prebuilt? All I plan to use the pc for is multi streaming (Twitch and YouTube). I don't have plans to pay pc games on it. I play 2 mobile games so I mirror my iPhone to pc using OBS Studio. I do some video editing (shorts). Hoping to keep my budget under $800.

A have had exactly one iBuyPowerPC in my household, and it's been just fine for - I am guessing - four years. Over time, an SSD and a FireWire card have been added, and the graphics card has been upgraded. All was fine. I don't have any other experience with the brand.

I don't do any of the stuff you are planning to do, but I suspect any low midrange PC would handle those things just fine.

In this day and age, how upgradable do you need your PC to be. RAM, HD, GPU, PSU are probably the only thing I'd consider upgrading. And most brands are flexible with those components. If I need a CPU or Mobo or an oversized GPU I'd probably sell and buy another PC.

In that case, just buy another stick of 16Gb RAM with the $50 savings and you got yourself 32GB!

i've had 2 iBuyPowers, 1 from around 2010. served me well, i had a CPU thermal paste issue after a few years, could be my fault from overclocking, i was new to PC. a friend offered to fix, he screwed it up and fried the unit, so replaced the chip, then all was good. eventually upgraded to SSD. i retired it around 2020.
last week i bought another on sale for $850 from walmart. they used some terrible 3rd prty shipping company that took 4 days to get it to me 20 miles from their warehouse... but thats not iBuyPowers fault. what MIGHT be their fault, is 3/4 screws were loose on the cooler going to the processor, and the 4th screw was rattling in the case. the cooling hoses were also pushing up against the ram card in slot 2. This led to a bad Motherboard.
Did the shipping company handle it terribly, or was assembly bad from the beginning, hard to say.
what i can say is iBuyPowers customer service was great. was only on hold for 3 minutes, tested components over the phone through process of elimination. narrowed it down to MB, printed a fedex label, shipped it to them. Rep said he would put "priority repair" on it since its brand new. so its currently on the way there. I could have returned it to walmart for refund, and i still can till jan 31st, so if i come across a better deal, i will.
