Yep, I'm sure SVS fans will downvote but the fact is you can get two 16" Klipsch rp1600sw(well reviewed) and for less than the price of one of these when on sale. So I'd say that's pretty hard to beat. I just run one rp1400sw and that thing just pounds. I can't imagine two of the 16" in my house unless I want to redo all my walls.

Believe it or not, I was going to write the exact same thing when i wrote my prior post!!! Then I was like nahhhh, don't want to deal w/ the svs fan boys!!! lol.. Truth is you can get two RP-16's for less then one pb-16 when the Rp's are on sale and still have a ton $$$ leftover and the 2 RP16's will take out the pb-16.

It's about time after all these years of crap Klipsch subs and there horrible AMP failures, crap 2 year warranties, that they finally put out a sub class that has a real good amp, great drivers and a proper 5 year warranty at a fantastic price esp when on sale. Honestly the biggest value in subs now.. Good for Klipsch & the consumer!, Someone finally WOKE UP in the Klipsch R&D/Executive dept & gave us the RP sub line!!!

Lot of discussion here. I am very new bee in this area. Setting up my home theater system. What are premium brands comparable with SVS. While my room is bigger, i found SVSs (Subwoofer, floorstanding, surrounds ) are very big. What are other brands you suggest. While i am tight on budget, i can stretch my budget to get more space in my theatre room. How about Sonos, Focal, KEF, Bowers & Wilkins etc?

some good budget options for subs also include HSU or RSL. the brands you noted also make decent subs but they tend to charge a premium for those brands.

I won't downvote, I have owned both klipsch and SVS. Even though SVS is more money I would still buy them. They have an amazing feature set, and the customer service is beyond excellent. I bought an open box unit from SVS, and they forgot to send the ports and remote, I reached out to them on Sunday and they shipped the missing items next day, few days later got an email from SVS president to see if he can answer any questions. I always say get what your budget suits you, but SVS has not disappointed yet. Also the klipsch 16 is an amazing sub! If you don't need the app support, buy two of the klipsch 16 on sale and call it a day! You will be extremely happy!

Not sure why people are thinking pb16 ultra is a slouch, it hits so hard, and has the most Sub bass available below 20 hz unless you go with dual subs/or 18 inch or larger subs. People also fail to realize that pb16 stays pretty clean while getting low. It's not just about spl in a subwoofer, there are other things to consider, look at audioholics review.

all the way best sub out there for the$$$$$ when on sale , the klipsh 1600. They finally have a high quality sub w a quality amp and warranty
