I'm really surprised that thread isn't a super hot deal. This edge phone packs a lot of good specs. I'm in for NOW $120 bucks delivered.

/Edit, bought a second one for the wife.

No one answered my TMO postpaid SIM in unlocked Edge, but taking a risk. $2.57 fees for me. Gotta wait for the phone before seeing this as a super hot deal.

I'm not a pro, but I don't see why not after unlock. As for the phone, my wife has a 2022 Edge and she' happy. I'm ditching my other phone and getting this 2024 Edge and I bought one for the the wife. That's how far I'm backing this phone model.

Anyone thrown in a postpaid TMO SIM into this after unlock? Results? TIA
Metro version works fine while network locked. I only paid $75 last summer.

IIRC, the Moto in the QVC thread has a special letter added to the model number, and it was said to be less likely compatible with a TMO Postpiad SIM after unlock (bands?) Was just hoping to get some feedback on this popular deal, wrt TMO postpaid.

There are a ton of 4G and 5G bands available and device models customized for some carriers may not support all the necessary bands for other carriers.

Alas, specs for 4G/5G band support is difficult to find for carrier specific models. iPhone and Pixel are pretty much the only sure bets in terms of compatibility.

Im sure this moto edge 5g 2025 (actually 2024 model) will work fine on tmo postpaid once unlocked. The problem is that it will have problems connecting to the Tmo ULTRA 5G bands. Specifically as i recall ___ band 71 is a big deal band for t mobile and band n71 is a big deal for accessing the Ultra 5G range. This phone doesn't seem to have any of the "n" bands. Again, no problem with 4G lte. Even has band 12 for extended lte connectivity. My guess is the ULTRA 5G bands are reserved for the TRUE flagship phones. This phone is Low Mid level phone at best.
See Below The Tmo Bands and This moto Edge (actually 2024) bands :

Motorola Edge 5g 2024 (released June 2024) Connectivity Networks + Bands (from Motorola website)
5G: 1/3/7/28/38/78
4G: LTE bands: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/ 12/17/20/26/28/ 32/38/40/41/66 (probably also have band 71 (not band n71)
3G: UMTS bands: 1/2/4/5/8 2G: GSM band 2/3/5/8
-------- --------
T mobile Connectivity Bands :
(from tmo website)
5GUC (Ultra Capacity 5G)
Band n41 (2.5 GHz)
Band n258 (24 GHz)
Band n260 (39 GHz)
Band n261 (28 GHz)
5G (Extended Range 5G)
Band n71 (600 MHz)
4G LTE :
Band 2 (1900 MHz)
Band 5 (850 MHz)
Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz)
Band 66 (Extension of band 4 on 1700/2100 MHz).
Extended Range 4G LTE :
Band 12 (700 MHz), 71 (600 MHz)
2G : Band 2 (1900 MHz)

I activated the phone with the SIM card and then took it out and put it on a different phone. Are you saying the unlock will still fail? I even sent UNLOCK message to 611611 and it told me the phone will unlock on a certain date!
Did it work for you. Planning to move service to iPhone esim but don't want to lose the activation clock of two months

Anyone know how to get this phone on ATT prepaid? My unlocked phone, on ST, with 5 days left on the 3mo plan, is not supported EMEI on the ATT prepaid tool. Is there something else i need to do to get this supported? Frickin pain...

Wow, that's a pain. Looks like you're trying to use the ESIM. Is that the case? If not try grabbing an Att sim from target or best buy.
Normally, i would advise you to click SKIP on the page asking for the IMEI (the compatibility check page). Then just complete the process.
As a habit, i always SKIP the compatibility check if possible.
ALSO, Remember this, the more info you provide with your question, the greater chance someone will try to help you.

I agree. Use a PSIM after unlocking. I have seen posts somewhere (SD or reddit ? ) mentioning ATT and/Cricket may suspend your service at some point if using a non-whitelisted phone, but the ATT MVNOs don't seem to care. Hopefully, someone else with experience with this will chime in.
