I have this dishwasher, it came as the builder special. For pretty much 2 years runs every night. It's loud af. I've been looking into adding cheap materials or stuff I already own to insulate sound. Other than that it is a work worse.

It doesn't dry dishes very well... unless you use rinse aid. I just started using rinse aid (great value brand) for the first time ever and it makes a HUUUGE difference.

It's a work horse, loud and doesn't have bells and whistles like a third rack adjustable racks, but it gets the job done with the right detergent and practices.

I can give more detail on how to get excellent clean dishes with this if anyone requests.

Consider a Miele if you can afford it.
I don't have my model handy, but my understanding was that mine was made in a "vertically integrated" facility, meaning that nearly all of the components were fabricated in the same place it was assembled. This is also way more expensive than this deal.

On the flip side, I had a Frigidaire that the control panel failed every 6 months. It was a top control and the moisture that ruined them. After 2 years and 3 controllers, I bought a GE similar to this (front instead of top controls). 6 months later this GE now errors on draining all the time. They all suck.
I second this. Top controls fail right after the warranty expires. I love the sleek look, but I don't buy these anymore.

For those looking at dishwashers and read all the reviews and comments about wet spots and stuff on dishes, dishes still being dirty, etc. you'll find every single dishwasher has plenty of these types of reviews, even Bosches that people recommend highly.

Just remember that the majority of people have no idea how to load a dishwasher, how much detergent to use, and don't use rinse-aids.

I have this in a summer home and it's fine. It dries things fine. It cleans things fine. It's not the best (which in my opinion for value is the Bosch 300 series with 3rd rack).

Use powder detergent and add some to the pre-wash slot, and use rinse aid, don't overload it, and ANY dishwasher will clean and dry perfectly fine.

I do agree with the sentiment that electronics on appliances seem to go out way too easily these days though.

Yes, it's surprising how many people don't use rinse aids! A bottle lasts so long.

You can buy dishwasher insulation on Amazon for like $20-$30. It's basically the same insulation that comes on high end models. Easy to add, just pull out your dishwasher and lay the insulation on, it's shaped generally like your dishwasher and you just need to cut any slits to accommodate your specific model.

It's pretty much all they do on higher end models, but they might stuff some more insulation in nooks and crannies. Just the insulation around it makes a huge difference though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CGHNHF2V

If you're going to the hassle of hundreds in install costs, plumbing, might as well get the best dishwasher you can. I personally went with a Bosch about 15yrs ago. Still works great.

Yes. Thank the Department of Energy. They are able to unilaterally decide how much water and electricity an appliance is allowed to use with the stroke of a pen. Hopefully the overturning of Chevron Deference gets rid of this type of practice.
Wow that's a terrible interpretation of the Chevron Deference. And to prove it, the Chevron Deference went into effect in 1984. Dishwashers have been fine for decades, yes the newest models have high efficiency standards they must comply with, but there's models out there that work great, (Bosch 800/500, Samsung DW80R9950QN or really any DW80 Samsung). Dishwashers suck because companies are prioritizing profit over performance. So please stop with the bending of reality to justify politically charged opinions.

Would definitely consider Costco, especially if you need install/haul away. That's an extra $250 from Lowes. I got this one in sale for $400, but even at the regular $550 price it's cheaper if you need install/haul away plus it has a stainless steel tub and it's pretty quiet.

Costco also doubles the warranty to 2 years.

Many great YouTube channels cover topics like these, they recommend bosch as well. Check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E...cesandJunk [youtube.com]
Your video agrees. General rule I've noticed...if they make a TV then don't buy the kitchen appliance. LG and Samsung come to mind.

Any negative feedback you can provide on the Maytag unit?

I have the 800 series, and it's been fantastic. However, it's double the price of this deal.

If people buy a GE appliance, they're going to get what they deserve. Every GE I owned in the last 20 years has been unreliable
If you hate them why in the world have you continued to buy them over 20 flippen years?

Hate the Bosch from a drying perspective. Go Miele if you can.
