A high quality Gore-tex/Down parka can be very expensive. Most people don't need this sort of thing, but this isn't an overpriced due to branding situation. This is a decent deal.

If you don't need it this winter, yes there will always be better winter gear deals once winter is coming to an end. But otherwise, it is a great deal for a goretex down parka. Also Marmot tends to have additional discounts once but not on all products and size availability can be limited. So there's that.

It's pretty good value for what it is. I paid >$300 just for a goretex shell. 700-fill down isn't the most premium but it's good and given a 3+ lb jacket seems like there's a ton of down installed. Likely overkill for most people but if you want a very weatherproof jacket this seems a good value
