These lead acid is "dumb" battery. You can get a generic one for $20 or less. At $35 you can probably get a LiFePO4 version.

Where are you getting replacement batteries from?

Generic ones almost always suck with less than half the usable life.

So something like this? https://a.co/d/32WxdZ1 IIRC the existing ones were 12v 9aH

I have a Cyberpower 1500va that's been just sitting and collecting dust. I would like to upgrade to lithium but I don't have much knowledge on this

Generally, both of my new APC units lasted me about 5 years. I think it's a great return of investment. It's the reason why I don't bother with aftermarket replacement units.

If you peel off the sticker. You will see the manufacturer of the actual battery. Any popular generic will work the same. There is nothing special about these batteries.

PowerSonic is a legit name for aftermarket as well, been around for will over 30 years. I have run their stuff as replacements in several APC UPS's with good luck. My 1500 runs a pair of 18ah but PS has 21ah in the same form factor, have a notable bump in run time.

Strongly disagree. Just like with NiMH, Lithium, etc., there are good and bad brands and batteries. After many years of using OEM (which source from quality manufacturers) and popular generic SLA batteries, there is a clear difference in quality and lifespan between them.

One way to get a quality battery is to buy the same brands that APC and Cyberpower use for their batteries (CyberPower doesn't even bother covering their batteries with a label like APC does). But then you won't be saving much money vs buying OEM when on sale.

PowerSonic is fine, but for UPS, you want high rate batteries and PowerSonic PHR-1236 isn't any cheaper.

you can strongly disagree, but i can strongly agree with him as he is correct and you are not as knowledegable about batteries as we are... :-)

This deal couldn't have come at a better time. When I priced the same APC replacement battery a week ago at Amazon, it was $60.85 before sales tax. I don't have Prime, so added a $0.99 item to qualify for the $35.00 minimum required for free shipping.

Yet you give no backing to your "knowledge" that SLA generics are all the same as known quality brands. Time for you to go into NiMH threads to say that generics are just as good as Japanese Eneloops.

Show me a LiFePO4 battery that can charge from a SLA charger.

For a direct UPS replacement, LiFePO4 may not be able to handle the charge voltage (depending on the UPS), and definitely cannot handle the discharge current. For many other tasks LiFePO4 would be superior.
The only reasonable lead-acid replacement for a UPS or a car that I know of is LTO. They're expensive, but one has been starting my car for the last few years and it will no doubt outlive my car.
