It comes with a year of Gemini Advanced and 2 TB of storage. When I tried to activate the offer, I got a cryptic message about my account not being eligible. After a useless exchange with Google Support that took over a week, they ended by saying the device was not eligible. English comprehension ain't their strong suit! I finally figured out that it was because my Google account was part of a Google Family group. I had to disassociate the account to activate the trial.
You can re-create the Family Group after activating the trial and share the 2 TB. I saw a message that you can only do this once a year. It looks like they updated and clarified the terms of the offer to mention the problem I encountered.
Recommended. I installed their Linux support and can run Signal Desktop, Brave and Reaper in that environment.
On the question about media, the internal speakers don't get too loud, but they're fine along with the mic for Google Voice calls. The headphone jack works well with my KRK headphones, plenty of volume and clear. I can cast from Chrome, YouTube and YouTube Music to my TV with Chromecast built-in.
Brightness is fine for indoors. I lower the brightness at night. Probably 200 or 250 nits.

Costco used to frequently sell a similarly spec'd HP for the same price. I'm hoping they do so again in the future.
ChromeOS has so much more features, that's why you don't see the 2GB RAM models anymore. My Chromebox has 16GB i7. wicked fast.

so awesome, i got a trackpad for my chromebox desktop
two finger swipe to go forward/backward web pages, scrolling
three finger tap to open link in new tab, pinch/zoom all the other stuff you would expect with touch
way better than using a mouse imo
