Seems to be 2 of these per year from B&N, and a couple flash sales from Criterion directly each year. I basically just buy everything released since the last sale each time - no sense in paying full price...

As long as the movie is scheduled to be released during the sale period, it'll be 50% off.

The last time I went to a B&N that still sold movies at all, the Criterion shelf spanned about the width of a Coke machine.

Here lately there has been several great boutique sales at B and N, they are great !! Arrow, KL, ETC, but also I've not checked any stores stock, all online purchases

Anyone know if Barnes still has their own, in-house published books that used to go on sale for about $5-8 on sales? It was usually classics but "Barnes-branded" for a lack of a better term.

I was at a Barnes some time earlier this year and I saw those classics they had but they weren't on sale. Never saw a sale on them after that either.

Otherwise, pre-COVID, the classics would be on sale a few time a year and I'd load up.

I remember those. I haven't seen those in years, come to think of it. They used to keep them near the entrance or near the check out. Haven't seen them since prior to the pandemic.

I assume if you have a pre-order in your order, you won't get the whole order until the pre-order is released?

Yep, they do. I was able to get No Country For Old Men and Seven Samurai 4K pre sales for $30 cheaper than my Criterion order from their last sale. Awesome deal!

I recently just made an order with one preorder Blu ray and one in stocked Blu ray. The one in stocked has already shipped and on its way, while the preorder won't be released in mid November.
