I ordered a Standard in Silver Sparkle last year when it was like $380 new. First one arrived destroyed. Sent it back and ordered another when it came back in stock and it was flawless.

I'm not a good guitar player as I am primarily a drummer, but I have played several guitars in my life and the neck on this guitar is fantastic. The roasted maple neck feels smooth and slick and I was able to get the action super low.

This guitar feels way smaller than it is. Super easy to play. I love my Wolfgang Special. Feels wonderful, well set up, pickups are great for chug or clean.

Not sure on the much cheaper Standard. But i encourage everyone to try one. I'm not much of a Floyd user but no issues.

I've been looking to pick up a second solid body, I played one of these ones for about half hour 45 minutes, I thought it was really nice, played well I like the weight distribution but that's about the extent of it I know nothing else about these guitars. Is this at a two good to pass up price right now? I'm feeling like I need to grab one.

You're unlikely to find a better price on the standard, even on the used market. I bought a Special during the last sale and it's become my go-to guitar and the differences in the two models are negligible for most people and many of the Youtube reviews I watched said to go for the Standard. The only thing negative I have to say about this guitar and EVH guitars in general is that they still seem relatively unknown and are harder to sell because they aren't as prominent in the zeitgeist.

I got a great deal on a WG Special from PAS but it weighed 8 1/2 pounds. With this small body style, it sat like a rock on my knee and I shipped it back. Wolfgangs can range anywhere from 7 pounds to 8 1/2.

Yeah, it seems like they tried to more or less keep the Peavey version, but I guess to avoid patent infringement they cut out the unpainted portion and ended up with this.
