1) Love these bases. The neck is nice and thin like a Jazz bass. Roasted maple neck is very nice. Smooth and fast player
2) I played this mostly in passive. Ended up replacing the pre amp with a Bartolini. I found the stock preamp and little touchy and gnarly. But it may suit your needs fine. Not an issue if you play in passive mode.
3) Great price for new. If you've been looking at picking up a bass, you could do a lot worse than this deal.
