Junk stuff
Remember that these are the PRE-Black Friday ("Event One") deals listed, and no one has yet announced the actual Black Friday ("Event Two") and Cyber Monday ("Event Three"). The thread should make that clearer.

Been that way for over a decade. Feel like this is just another tragedy of the popularity of Amazon. Rarely see any great deals like you used to have to wake up early for and physically hunt around town for on Black Fridays. Fighting crowds for sales was probably further killed by the pandemic.

I probably am in the minority, but I miss the old BF crowds. My spouse and I would start out early (around 4am) and work our way all around town after getting the Thanksgiving paper. Remember newspapers? I spent many a happy Thanksgiving night standing in lines for literally hours at WM and Target for the sale DVDs and Blurays. I would start monitoring the BF forums here starting around the middle of November. Nowdays, it's one big yawnfest. We live in the midwest and for the last few years, we drive about 4 hours to Minneapolis and spend BF and Saturday at MOA. Don't always buy a lot, but love the chaos.

I have not seen a really good bf Walmart deal since 2019, when I got a 65" 4k Roku TV for $228. They ran out of 65" when I went to pick it up, so they gave me a 70".

I get better deals all throughout the year. I don't really think much of BF anymore, it's hugely overrated when it comes to prices.

I would never buy one of those at that price. Those cheap TVs are made specially for black Friday sales. Better quality brand names tvs at that size go on sale throughout the year. And new models come out yearly, so the older models drop in price.

I bought several of those 65 TCL roku at 228. Great picture good sound. I don't know why anyone wouldn't buy it AT THAT PRICE

F*** Walmart for no longer pricematch in-store items with website. No these are not 3rd party items. You could just order online and pickup...well I was already in the store. Have to wait until order is ready.

I never said not to buy them. Just saying the quality is not all that great. Check out some what some people have to say about theses cheap 4k tvs for under $300.

2 month unlock, total cost will prob be around 200(phone)+45(plan)= 245 total

I did a similar deal for the iPhone SE, I would def recommends it's very easy to do, just make sure you go in store
to much work for a 3 year old phone to me. Constantly switching providers is a hassle. Factor in a per hour charge for your time in store, monitoring all this, switching etc unless you work for free

I feel like the 3yrs old phone argument isn't rly valid here, considering the iPhone 14(still sold in apple stores for 600$) is the exact same as the iPhone 13, except with 2 extra GB of RAM. And for people like me who know which exact store is the best for these deals, it's not a whole lot of work either.

And as for the providers thing, thats 100% valid. The only way I know how to get around that issue is to just keep your old phone for a bit longer. example, I have a iPhone 12 currently, backmarket offers me 180$ cash, so I just buy the iPhone 13, keep using the 12 for 2 months, then trade in for 180$ or whatever backmarket offers me at the time.

at the end of the day, consider it a YMMV deal

Given how many families are currently stretched financially, this doesn't surprise me. If I saw this in 2012-2019 BF sales, I'd prob scratch my head
Nah, things are great. Lol according to at least one person in this thread. Cognitive dissonance is real.
