They're .36c regularly now at Walmart. That's a 125% price increase for the same exact product that hasn't changed in over 20+ years, yeah I'd say that's a big difference, lol. #inflationgate
A dozen eggs were $1.13 at Aldi two years ago; they are now $3.50. That's something to complain about.

Nice find. Rarely see pork one on sale, it's always Shrimp or Veg.

What makes these instant? I assumed it meant you just add hot water but it looks like you have to boil them for 3 minutes.

Edit - and how is it a "ready to eat meal" as the product title states? Do people eat these without cooking?
Akin to instant rice.
Just faster than more standard versions, is all.

But yes, reeeeeeee.

They don't have to *boil* for 2 minutes. You can add boiling water, cover, and let sit. Just like, y'know, instant rice, instant potatoes, or instant oatmeal

My Target has 6 pack of chicken or beef for $0.99. $0.165 each.

When I went to the store to pick up, the shrimp 6 pack had a sign that was marked $0.99 also, but rang up $1.99, so I had to get them to match the sign.

The Indomie Mi Goreng Instant Fried Noodles, 3 oz, 40-count also available at Costco business in store for $15.99.
I'm not convinced Indomie is better. Its only claim to fame is that 1 stupid internet tier list that social media made viral. yummy

You can cover them in boiling water and let them rehydrate for about 7 minutes vs. cooking them in boiling water to save time.

You don't really have to cook them with heat, either. One of my friends sailed the entire east coast over the course of a year or so. He would often add ambient temp water to ramens in the AM and let them rehydrate until lunch time.
Do the noodles get soggy?

Never thought I'd see the day where 0.25c per package was a deal on these things. These used to be .16c when I was growing up and got me through college. Just add one egg and half the seasoning packet and you have yourself a quick meal.
If anyone has Albertsons/Randalls these are $0.17 this week

You're openly comparing a price from 20 years ago. Use the inflation calculator yourself. Even if you ignore the last 4 years, 2000-2020 was 50.3%. A 20 cent soup in 2000, was 30 cents in 2020. Argue if you like, but the facts are what they are.
They were 10-16 cents in 2000. With a 3% inflation rate over 24 years, the price of a Maruchan Instant Ramen packet that cost 15 cents in 2000 would be approximately 30 cents in 2024. And they're selling for what 36-40 cents now at my local wamart? Point is nothing's changed with these, in fact these are bottom of the barrel and probably easier to manufacture than a 10 cent washer.

My original comment was I can't believe I'd see the day where this is a deal post on SD, and here's the inflation police telling me to use calculators lol, jc.

LOL, man they took out the Alberstons where I lived and put an LA Fitness instead. No Randalls Frown

This reminds me of when people horde toilet paper and water during hurricane season and meanwhile local asian/latin grocery stores are stocked. If it's a front pager on SD it must be a deal.

Never understood why people buy these. It's like a day's worth of sodium per serving and not even filling. Ultraprocessed too.
