Automatics are powered by the movement of your wrist. If you look at the photo that shows the back of the watch, you can see a small rotor in there that acts as a weight to spin around and wind the watch. This means that effectively, as long as you are wearing the watch, it will continue to run. This model has a 45-hour power reserve as well, so it will continue to run for roughly 45 hours after you take it off. Automatics are beautiful intricate pieces of machinery but there are drawbacks. The downside is that if you take the watch off for a few days and don't wear it, it will obviously be wrong the next time you go to put it on. If you're looking for a first automatic, this would be a great example of one.

That's why I prefer the Eco-Drive models, which charges using light, and can run up to 6 months without a charge.
Similar model, but has mineral crystal dial instead of the superior sapphire, at around the same cost. Other similar models available on Jomashop.
Absolutely. I love the Eco-Drive and other solar quartz variants (I'm wearing one right now!). Personally, I swap out between a mix of classic quartz, solar quartz, automatic, and mechanical from day to day and week to week. Just whatever the mood happens to be at the time.

This guy gets it. I wore a quartz the last 2 days, today it's my titanium eco-drive

Hacking just means the second hand stops when you pull out the crown to set the time. Vintage watches and some newer ones like the Swatch Sistem51 don't hack, meaning the second hand just keeps going. But most modern watches do, allowing you to set the time more precisely.
On non-hacking watches, you can still "back hack" by rotating the crown backwards slightly until the second hand temporarily stops, then you rotate forward again to set the time. The trick is to do it BEFORE fully winding the watch as there's less pressure on the mechanism.
I have a couple watches that don't hack, including a Timex with a similar Miyota movement to this Citizen. They're workable, but I definitely prefer hacking. That's why I was wondering about the Tsuyosa. As was pointed out, Caliber Corner says they do, but in the Teddy Baldassarre Youtube review, he says they don't. Other people on forums like Reddit have reported both.
From what I can tell, it seems like early releases- possibly ones released in Asia- don't hack but more recent ones do. I guess the question is which ones are Jomashop selling? Has anyone bought one from them and can let us know?
