I have the more expensive version with 8GB and use it every day. It's portable and handy, big enough to do work on, browse the web, etc. It runs most Android apps fine including various streaming media or local files. Plus you can run GFN on it and use it for gaming. I was playing Victoria 3 at lunch.
That said, I wouldn't get this version with only 4GB of ram and 64GB of storage.

Sounds like worse performance than your typical $50 SD android phone, so is the point of this bad performance grandma Facebook with a screen and keyboard?
Chromebooks generally fill the same niche that netbooks once did: relatively inexpensive means of accessing the internet, and more modernly, extensive productivity web applications.

I have an old version of this, and am quite happy with it.

The screen is very nice, battery life is long, good for light tasks such as watching videos, reading books.

I think this is a good deal for this older model, if you're ok with the 4gb ram and older processor.
I just got the new model (ciri) and enjoy it for portability and battery life. I've only had it 2 days.
I'm not sure this posted deal will come with a pen though. I see in the product details it says the Pen is optional. The Pen is about $40 value I think. The Lenovo site is a bit confusing about the pen, just wanted to point out that it might not be included on this $150 deal. for what it's worth.
thanks OP

Except netbooks had the processing power of a Hello Kitty watch.

Clearly says pen not supplied in the specs.

I owned the 8GB RAM model of this device and eventually sold it. I don't know if it has been resolved but there was a massive power drain issue with it that hadn't been fixed with any updates for over a year or two after its release. If it wasn't attached to the keyboard when not in use, the battery would almost completely drain overnight. I tried everything to fix this but never could get it figured out. It was especially frustrating because, despite being heavily reviewed in articles and YouTube, nobody seemed to be mentioning these issues that could be found all over forums.

A while after selling it, I rolled the dice on an open-box: "excellent" condition of the Duet 5 with 8GB RAM from Best Buy and it has been very enjoyable. These are not power house devices and have very medium grade performance. The value here is in versatility assuming they finally corrected the battery drain issues.

i commented on the other thread, but mine came with the pen (despite the description), and with 4gb/64gb and no sd slot for memory it's a slog and i returned it…chromeos alone takes up around 22gb and it was really slow and laggy…they are clearing inventory for the new model

the return process was a bit annoying (need to call) but hassle free after that it anyone wants to try it

Having 8gb ram matters a lot more than you may think. Only okay if you purely browse the web on a few tabs, otherwise dont get a 4gb ram chromebook.

How does this perform compared to a Kindle fire tablet? Or a Lenovo tablet like the P11 pro?

At 150 seems like a good tablet alternative.

I tested the coupon code on every variant of the Duet lineup that they currently have on their website and it is very strange to me that it is only working on this one model. The previous gen are getting clearanced out so I'm sure the 4GB version of the Duet 3 is The worst selling of the bunch and they have excess to offload

Had a similar one. Lenovo sucks when it comes to anything other than ThinkPad. Got a galaxy tab FE with trade in and paid 219. couldn't be more happier.
