So disappointing about the music. There's one scene in particular in My Monster that was absolutely iconic with the original music, and much less inspired with the updated score.
The music being changed makes all of the digital versions of this show a no-go for me. Such a huge part of the original experience. I guess I'll keep my DVD sets until they rot.
The contracts signed for all the music in Scrubs originally (especially the first few years) included the rights for TV broadcast and physical media, but not for streaming since streaming didn't really exist then and no one thought of it. Scrubs was also not very popular in its early years, so the money negotiated for the rights to the music was quite low.

Later on, when the executives tried to renegotiate the music rights to also include streaming, many of the bands demanded more money since Scrubs was much more popular and hence making a bunch more money. The executives got greedy and refused to pay.

My headcanon says that at that point, the executives hired an intern, pointed them at a collection of stock music files, and told them to go crazy replacing whatever music they no longer had the rights to for streaming. It's the only explanation for the garbage we got.

For those of you not familiar with Scrubs music from TV or DVD, the person picking the music originally was a master of finding just the right song to fit emotionally with the scene.

$10 cheaper than September's deal. Pulling the trigger and might watch this like the rest of my "collection of digital licenses"

They modified the music from the original broadcast due to licensing.

Edit: SD is not the best experience on larger TVs/projectors. Maybe AI will upscale more shows
