Tried it in best buy . It is very hard to grip. A side handle grip is a must.

The lenses it comes with is the problem. It is 20-60, 3.5-5.6 and made for S5. This lenses pretty much defeats the purpose of buying a compact camera like this S9. Panasonic doesn't really have compact lenses for this L mount. there is one 18-40, 4.5-6.3 that's all.

Other colors are priced the same. I've heard that they are hard to grip, though.

Nice camera. I'm in the market for a mirrorless camera but I'm holding out for something on Black Friday.

Hadn't heard of this one. That small with a full frame is very interesting. Thanks for posting.

As prices drop this camera starts making more sense. Just needs more compact L-Mount lenses to compliment it.

a few years ago I bought the a7c for less than this. Usually by the end of the year Sony has a trade in program that adds discounts. I traded in an old film camera and got $300 off

I already have an S1R, which is a pain for travel. Would love to get that one. But I could get a fast lens for that price…

Yes, and even the 18-40, 4.5-6.3 was just recently become available. With this lens though, there's a hybrid zoom function that add in a little digital zoom (blend into the physical dial motion on the lens) expanding the range from 40 to 62 when shooting at 4k.
A new firmware update was also recently released that added a function to turn off video record limit, allowing unlimited length of recording until either your memory card is full or when the camera is overheated.

I'm definitely interested in this camera, but will probably wait for a deal with the 18-40 lens…

I'm glad people are commenting on the grip. When this was first released that was my big question and concern. I had a hard time gripping my Fuji XT30 and the bigger the lens the more awkward it was to handle.
