Just buy a normal 3 pack of the Thermalright TL-C12C fans. They a great deal even at normal price.

You put a 150w cooler on a 250w CPU. I don't think that's the cooler's fault.

That's because you're using a hyper 212 on a 14700k. It's not rated for it. You should be using a peerless assassin or phantom spirit on that bad boy. Or a good AIO.

You're right it's underspecced, but your numbers are way off. It's a 210 watt cooler on a 219 watt (at max boost) CPU, per the manufacturer's specs.
Hyper 212 Black TDP: 210 W - https://www.coolermaster.com/en-u...atibility/
14700K TDP, typical 65 W, with boost 219 W: https://www.intel.com/content/www...tions.html

FWIW the Assassin Spirit (not to be confused with the famous Peerless Assassin and Phantom Spirit, which are both larger and more expensive) is usually this price and has a very similar coldplate design and look/feel. IMO at $20 this is a good price for this product but might not be so competitive more broadly. The Spectrum V3 version at $15 (the $5 coupon is over) is a slightly better deal, though it looks a little dated in comparison to the model in the OP.

Yes, keep the Burst Assassin secret. Keep it safe.

There's a difference between heat output watts and power draw watts. The 14700k power draw from the wall is ~285W at full tilt: https://gamersnexus.net/cpus/inte...ming-power

This cooler has been mediocre on my i7-14700k - to the extent that I've underclocked my system to keep the temperatures good. (I'm on the 0x129 microcode, too, so I shouldn't be running hot / having issues with that overvoltage stuff).
That's because you have a really bad CPU. No shade on you, the 14 gen is just bad.
