I picked up the deal last year when it was on sale. I just used a different email account to register and reinstalled the alosim app.

How was your experience with it? I am thinking of getting this for my backup phone which I rarely use. The 4.5$ a week sounds good enough to last a good chunk of time for it

I've used it in urban and rural Japan and France. They tell you ahead of time which cell service you will get, so make sure the network is sufficiently robust in the country you are going to. It worked for me without a hiccup. I started the process of activation in the US and then it automatically configured itself on arrival.

I have never used e-sim nor Alosim before. I see that all $50 have to go into 1 user account. However if I am traveling with 2 other people, can I use my account to generate 3 different e-sims for 3 of us to use with our own phones at the same time ? Or it is really just for 1 person (1 e-sim) per account ?

I've used them and the way it works is for every eSIM you buy, it generates a QR code that you can use to install the eSIM on other phones. I was generating 3 eSIM for 3 different phones.

I just wanted you all to be aware of the free 5GB esim with instabridge that's posted here. Also tmobile has a 3 month trial.. so that might be an alternative..

Interesting option but plans seem to be steeper than options through esimdb. May consider this for next travel plans.

Is there a way to find out which cellular provider will be used before buying this. Have a lot of travel plans over the next 6 months and thinking about this as an option.

Just go to country page on the aloSIM website. I just checked out Peru where I am going and Claro is the cellular provider. https://alosim.com/peru-esim/

Nice, thank you! Looking at Spain and they have all major ones listed. Wonder how this works but I'll give them a try.

Enjoy Peru! I am hoping to be there sometime next year.

You do not need to create a new account. You can buy this and apply the $50 redemption code to an existing account.

Once you buy it, you have 30 days to claim the order from Stack Social (to get the claim code). Once the $50 redemption/claim code is applied to your alosim account, it will expire 365 days later.
