Yes. After you activated the 1st phone, simple DIY [reddit.com] to transfer service/number to the 2nd. The buckets will combine (2,400 TTD for 2 years).
I have this phone. WiFi calling isn't an option, unfortunately.
Good to give to your kids. Kids don't need smart phones LoL.

You will lose all your remaining 24GBs & time remaining.

Pay as you go will not combine with any unlimited plans. It kills the unlimited plan & you lose any remaining value.
Not true at all!
It depends on how you combine/transfer the service. If you activate a 24GB unlimited plan phone bundle by keeping an existing PAYG line, there have many reports that the buckets got combined and service extended. (unsure about the other way-PAYG to Unlimited).
If you combine service of two active lines, one PAYG and the other Unlimited, your balance is likely to show two plans (current plan-unlimited and other plan-PAYG) with two expiration dates. Current plan is to be consumed before other plan kicks in.

Can you transfer the minutes to a slightly less crappy phone?
Quote from DealzRGood4U :
That use to be very easy. You would just call or chat with customer service and ask to move all data, minutes, texts to the phone you want to keep. Now it's hard to do.

I activate new phones with a new number, then I call 800-867-7183, press # 2 to talk to a Spanish speaking customer service agent (they speak English as well). Ask them to transfer (combine) all data, minutes, texts, & service time to your old number.

If you talk or chat with the Indian CS agents they won't do this! They use to, but stopped about a year ago.

Make sure they understand you don't want the number to transfer. Emphasize this point.

Screen shot the balances on both phones before you do this so you'll know what the result should be.

YMMV.
The reply is not true if you want to transfer the service in this deal to your existing active TF line. Simply follow this easy DIY guide [reddit.com] when you activate the phones in this deal. This is one of the tasks you don't need to contact CS.
If the slightly less crappy phone is inactive, simply activate one phone in this bundle, then DIY to move the service.
You only need to contact CS to combine two active lines, and it's a little more complicated but not hard. Here's my post on how to do this.

Not true.
While unlocking time is 60 days the line does not need to be on an active plan the whole time. Many of us have unlocked other Tracfone/Total Wireless/Straight Talk phones after purchasing/activating a 30 day plan and waiting for 60 days - some have also reported keeping the phone active for only a few days & phone still unlocked at 60 days. Plenty of info in other TF threads.
But there's a very recent policy change from TracFone, it seems just activating this phone is not enough to get unlocked after 60 days. Any updated/new data points?

The data points I have seen so far indicate unlock works with transfer for phones with bundled service. If you purchased a phone without service and did a service transfer from an existing line to activate it, the new phone would probably be ineligible for unlock. The unlocking dept will not unlock it after 60 days.

Unlockable Even if customer transfers out of this phone after just 1 day?

That's the risk you are going to take. Unlockable: 60 days? Yes; 30 days? a lot of data points support this; 1 day? possible as some reported it, but it's TF so you never know what's going to change.
I purchased an iPhone without service directly from Tracfone and activated it by service transfer in June. TF policy changed in July. After 60 days in August, the phone was still locked and TF refused to unlock it. It didn't matter showing them the policy in effect at time of activation or filing FCC complaint.

They don't even allow the combine of 2 active lines if one has an unlimited plan.

You should check more often, it's been 60 day unlock for 3 years, ever since Verizon bought TF. Unlock policy is available online.
I unlocked it within the last year, the rep told me wrong then.

It is simply not true. They do allow it and I have done it a few times. The unlimited plans were originally from phone bundles ('Unlimited'), and not monthly unlimited plans directly from Tracfone or plan PIN cards ('UNL').

I was informed a couple of times that couldn't combine if one line had an unlimited plan in the past 60 days. It may be due to the monthly unlimited plan. Haven't tried combine on those bundled plans.

Definitely, with a transfer with existing number at activation or a combine after activation. The latter can score you rewards points if you use referral.

Yes, look at the plan, if it says 'Unlimited', likely from phone bundle and can be combined with PAYG. Monthly plan likely says 'UNL'.
