Yed, especially if you have already an account or opened recently. Just add line , pick the phone and cancel the line. Simple . No question will be asked as there will not be any payments on line.

But as usual , some down vote and now this post is off from the deals page.
Amazing deal
That kinda my point. Many people don't downvote for the deals because they are genuinely bad posts. They are upset the retailer isn't close to them, it's a brand they don't like, they saw the deal too late, they already bought at a higher price, they don't have the exact brand of X the Y fits, etc. Sadly much of our community isn't adult enough to use the vote function

Rarely deals the the all time best price. Otherwise SD's would be a single page of posts that met that yardstick.

Not amazing but still pretty good and doesn't require sitting on an unusable phone for months. In comparison both are decent deals and neither is probably worth downvoting.

Upvote good deals
Downvote bad deals
Scroll past if you don't know or are just bitter for some reason.

To me that is the simplest answer.

I'm not sure if it's still the case today, but a few years ago porting out was the easiest.

Just call customer service and they will cancel without any obligations. I did it multiple times . As there is no MONTHLY PAYMENTS on device , no questions will be asked

does this work if you need to setup a new account?
when does the verizon 3 day starts counting?
If it starts on the day of order, then this will not work if your local store do not have the phone and need to ship to you.

I see this is posted as an add-on to someone who opened a new account for iPhone 14 at Walmart. Personally, I recommend going prepaid route with Straight Talk / Total Wireless / Tracfone for these cheap phones even though they unlock only after 60 days. I see value in opening postpaid accounts for premium phones as they are not easily available for reduced prices. Entry / Mid or even some higher end Samsung or Motorola phones are available for less through prepaid.

Before I joined T-Mobile in late 2020, I used the Verizon BF deal in 2018 and 2019 through Walmart / Sams for their $400 GC when purchasing new iPhone (8+ and 11 respectively) at retail (new account) to get the phone outright at half price plus taxes. Those came unlocked. Cancellation within 3-days avoids activation fee and prorated monthly charge was ~$7. You were able to pay off phone through mobile app and didn't have to deal with anyone in person. VZ closed the loop since with 60-day unlock and restrictions on payoff.

I got two Moto Edge 2024 from Total recently for $135 (inclusive of taxes) which I expect to unlock in 60 days. Much better processor, RAM (8GB) and storage (256GB) compared to these.

Links/instructions for the Samsung/Motorola prepaid deals? I tried total wireless and it seems their best deals are for porting in and still not that great:

All those prepaid deals are in SD. Yes, port is needed which is available from Visible for $5 with referral code.

Total doesn't enforce the same phone number that is used to receive one time code to purchase to be ported in.

I was able to move 2 numbers from Visible to Metro (IPhone 12) and then to Total (Moto Edge 2024), and moved one of the Total numbers to Tracfone (QVC A14 5g) annual plan to park for a year. All in the last 2 months or less.

I think the point is the downvotes tend to come from those who cannot comprehend the deal....not because it is an inherently bad deal.

Requiring a new line = no deal.
