Can't be shipped "everywhere?" Okay....

Change of topic and FWIW, regarding these no name portable monitors....I bought a different brand [amazon.com] the other day from the $43 deal. It showed up same day and has been great, used it for 2 complete work days and it has exceeded my expectation for $40-ish. Screen isn't great but looks better than my workplace issued Dell 5440's LCD. It does add a bunch of weight to my laptop bag though

Bonus points for it working great from my Steam Deck and my Steam Deck even powering itself and the monitor at the same time....doesn't do wonders for the SD's battery....
Actually I haven't tried sound until you asked but I just plugged it in and watched a few youtube videos.

Spoken and sung audio is very crisp and easy to understand, outside of that most stuff sounds very 'tinny.' I watched a youtube video of Wreckfest and most of the game's sound effects were very muffled and another video I watched was George Ezra's "Budapest" and the electric guitar was very bad. Clearly at the edge of the speaker's ability to produce decent sound. I'd probably only rely on the (my particular) monitor's speakers if you were listening to people speaking, not watching movies or playing games unless you could deal with the less than full sound. But workable to be sure.

To be clear, I can't order this. For me the page says:

"This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location."

I guess these are only in stock in some Amazon warehouses, maybe only one, and Amazon aren't prepared to ship beyond the areas served by those warehouses. This doesn't happen often, but it also happened with another recent portable monitor deal.

"...marked by Amazon as a frequently returned item."

That is awesome that they mark that.

It's a little monitor for under $50 and does 1080P.
As long as it turns on and doesn't blow up = Slickdeal

That makes more sense. Could be regional or perhaps even based on local laws. I know California can be a pain with a lot of stuff not being "approved' there because of cancer / lead laws / emission type stuff.

I see. Make sense for $50 as the buyer's expectation must be low.

I have a similarly cheap one and was astounded that it worked with my switch with no dock, although my OLED switch screen definitely looks better than it lol

To me it is a display that has speakers. Honestly unless you asked I doubt I would have ever tried to use the speakers. Heck, I don't use the included speakers on my legit monitors or even on my 75" OLED HDTV, I guess they are nice to have for a backup but not something I'd ever judge them by. In my use case at least.

I was pretty surprised it worked without any config or external power. I just connected it as a proof of concept then ended up playing Generation Zero for an hour on the monitor LMAO2

250 nits vs the other front page deal which was 300 I believe. Is this number accurate on these generic Chinese units or are they all the same thing with a single manufacturer?
