R 120SW subwoofer from Klipsch retailing around 499 is listed at 229 at woot. This is a decent mid level wired sub at this price range. The same used subs are selling between 150-200$ on ebay etc..so 229 is a good price for this new subwoofer.

I want to add these are significantly better than R 120 SWi (sans the wireless module) in terms of audio output. They have much higher peak rms output of 400 w vs 230 w (r120swi)

Purchased one of these years ago and absolutely love it. It's not super high end, but for a home theater? more than enough (I used it on a 7.1.4 setup)

A couple years later I decided to pick up a few R-12SW (which were cheaper and supposedly the same/similar, and the 12SW was no comparison). The R-120SW has held solid without issues since I got it, with a nice punchy/tight bass opposed to the loose/muddy bass I was getting from the 12SW's (Purchased 3 total, and had the same issue with all 3).

Only thing to note is the MSRP -- $599 is just silly and these were regularly sold at 50% off by retailers like BestBuy. With that said, absolutely worth it at this price.

I'm only seeing a refurbished one for $220 or the R-12SW new for that price?

Be careful as someone mentioned earlier, the Costco one is not the same. Here are the spec sheets.

They're being replaced by the R-SW121. Klipsch is selling them directly for $249.

I bought one from Amazon three weeks ago for $269. It has been $269 or lower on Amazon for the past year per Camel.

Hold up. I've had the wireless version for years and was told at the time of purchase that the two versions (wired v wireless) were the same, only with a wireless transmitter module.

In fact, they sold the wireless module (at the time anyway) as a standalone device promoting the ability to turn any subwoofer into a wireless subwoofer.

So you're saying the two speakers are, in fact, different?

That's what I thought too, but I was wrong. I posted a link to the specifications for both in an earlier reply.
