I'm new to 3d printing, but yeah, this is the 1st time I've noticed 0.9kg spools.

I just got kingroon 10 packs for 90 bucks or 9 bucks a roll. I've printed plenty of this brand and I have no interest in paying more.

Edit - sorry I'm dumb this isn't pla.

A 10 pack of ABS? I thought it was just their PLA/PETG bundles that get that cheap.

Either way, I usually end up buying ELEGOO at 10-11 bucks a roll in the 4 packs.

I was wondering about those numbers. I have been using Jayo and have a few unopened rolls. Today, I just received an order of Sunlu rolls. The first thing I noticed was that the Sunlu spools are more narrow. It fits inside the Jayo spool. So then I weighed them. The Sunlu weighs 1184g and the Jayo weighs 1261g.

Those are unopened with their desiccant bag, cardboard tag, the filament clip and on the spool, of course. The Jayo spools seem to use less plastic and I'm guessing lighter than the Sunlu spool.

The Sunlu spools appear to be reusable. That could be useful if Sunlu regularly sold refills.

I'm scared lol.. I've only used pla so far. How hard is it to zero-in good prints with abs on an A1?

You're going to battle warping problems without an enclosure to keep ambient temperatures high. You're also going to have to keep the printer somewhere extremely well ventilated, as ABS is seriously toxic to print.

To print ABS you need an vented enclosure. Open printers won't print ABS properly.

ABS weighs 20% less than PLA, so you use less of it for a given print. But ABS is also a pain to print and has almost no advantages over ASA aside from price and a bit of heat resistance.

To quote myself from my Bambu mega-comment:

"Also as a caution, other materials have a higher risk of harmful air particulates. The "S" in ASA and ABS is styrene, which basically releases burnt Styrofoam fumes when printing. If you've ever thrown a Styrofoam cup into a camp fire, you know how terrible that is."
