No dice...the non-upgradable 8GB of memory is hard to look past. For less money, one can get a refurbished business-class laptop that's faster, more durable, with more memory and storage, and that's upgradable in the future. For example, I just picked up a ProBook 445 G9 with a Ryzen 5625U, 16GB of upgradable RAM, and a 256GB SSD for $160.

I was following a few listings on eBay when I ran across mine during a Google Shopping search for about $10-$15 less. But that kind of misses the larger point: I wasn't looking for a specific make and model...instead, I looked up the benchmark scores of several 6+ core processors used in 2-3 year old business laptops...ThinkPads, Latitudes, Precisions, EliteBooks, and ProBooks...then used a power search on eBay to identify and sort all the options.

The SSD could be easily replaced. However, the 8GB is where limiting the use cases of this laptop. i.e. solely for basic web-browsing and light office tasks.

No. The model comes in an 8GB or 16GB version, but the memory is soldered to the motherboard...no slots.
(edit: added a pic of the internals for the AG15-31P-3947)

I agree with you that the memory is the limiting factor but I ensure you with my personal experience on this very model that I have been able to do a lot of work with it. Having a number of browser tabs open and vscode with a number of files open, GitHub desktop app and a couple of file browsers works just fine even when on battery. Playing Minecraft bedrock edition with 26 chunks was actually smooth enough. I have the 2-n-1 model so I also had a pen and OneNote app and zoom meeting with full screen share and recording my derivations on Onenote to the cloud while driving a projector to duplicate my screen.

I just bought 3 sub $300 laptops, ASUS, Dell, HP. All had expandable ram so they all have 12 to 16GB now. There is always a compromise with cheap laptops compared to the others, ASUS (TN display), Dell (HDMI 1.4), HP (11th gen processor). I down voted this deal because of non-expandable RAM and small hard drive combination. At least get one with a slot for a RAM upgrade whether you do it or not. This isn't a Mac.

Since you likely have 3X my experience, with me having only one sub $300 laptop, have you attempted at using the 8GB ram for enough time to tell that it's really not enough?

I don't see an NVME slot. Is the storage also soldered on? I have to open mine to see. Mine is a spin 3 14" same CPU+RAM but 250GB NVME.
[EDIT] I see an NVME slot at the bottom right corner of the MB now that I've opened mine and did some checking. Mine has an NVME in the slot but it is a spin 3 so the board is only very slightly different than yours. Maybe yours has the 128GB also integrated on board (to the right of the memory chips)?

You're correct about the location of the NVMe slot on the AG15-31P. But the storage isn't integrated on the board; the drive is just uninstalled in the photo.

This one has "Windows 11 Home in S Mode", which means if you want to install most any Windows application, it will not work. S-Mode kills it for me. Made the mistake of getting on once, and couldn't even get KeyPass installed. Chromebook would be more useful than Windows S-Mode.
