No OLED either! 😕. It's almost like this is priced as a bargain basement TV.
If you prefer Roku, the 55" Hisense R6030 goes on sale @ Walmart for $178 on Mon, 11/25.

IMO... If these two TVs are your choices, and you plan on using the TV's smart features, just pick the one with the smart OS that you prefer: TCL (Fire TV) or Hisense (Roku TV).

But that can easily be changed for $20-30 by buying an Onn, Roku, Firestick or whatever device you want. It's actually the only aspect that can be changed after purchase.

Exactly! That's why I said, "and you plan on using the smart features". Meaning: of these two TVs... if you're gonna use the TVs smart platform (and not an external device) pick the one with the smart platform you prefer.

I really like the Fire Tv system as I can sideload Xfinity app, IPTV Smarters app and also Kodi. Can Roku run those apps?

Why buy another device when you can get it built in? My wife already complains about so many remote controls. Haha

I believe there's a way to get Xfinity app and IPTV app on Roku, but not Kodi.

Well as I heard from others, the os of the tv can get laggy and glitchy over time. As well as can kill the memory chip or whatever quicker they said. Either way its best to have a external device to begin with. Turn off the os and go old school, keep the tv safer as well as yourself from china from listening of thats still a thing.🤷

I have 2 old Fire TVs and I've never had a problem with them. I can quickly change inputs and run side loaded apps. I had a Roku that I could not find similar apps, especially Kodi and it died on me, so I never went back. I wasn't sure if Roku got better?

I bought the Q series that's on sale for 250. I know…..not this thread. But I'm putting this here because the fireTV OS is almost unusable. Apps are very laggy. If you can tolerate 5 to 8 minutes of glitching and buffering they settle in and are usually fine after that. But who wants to watch it like that. When you push a button it's 2 or 3 solid seconds before the tv responds. I've tried to update and reset. Everything. So far nothing has worked. I finally gave in and put a Roku stick in it and it works flawlessly. (All of our tvs are Roku…..so I'm pot committed to this platform). HOWEVER I am now running into the problem of powering on the tv. If the tv has been on recently, the Roku remote works perfectly. However, if the tv has been off for a while (more than an hour) it seems to go to a deep sleep and you have to use the fireTV remote to power on and then the Roku remote will work fine. I tried to change a few settings but it seems the "power saving" feature of the Fire OS is not changeable. I haven't decided if I want to keep it or not. As far as TCL…..we've owned 6 of them and have been VERY pleased with them. Someday I'd like to get one of their higher end tvs. I'm sure they're brilliant.

No Ethernet? On a TV? WiFi only. Seems a bit odd, who the heck would clog their wifi signal with a TV, a device that stays in one spot?

Hard pass.
