Yeah. They've done that for as long as I've been purchasing equipment from them (at least 10 or 15 years, though probably far longer). It's never deterred me at all. Their prices are fair, they don't end sale prices until well after they reopen, and in the grand scheme of things, it's a pretty minor inconvenience. Setting a reminder to go back in and order once they've reopened is quick and easy.

The store was founded by an ultra-orthodox Jewish family as a means to create jobs for the people in their community. It is still run by them and Jewish holidays and Shabbat are strictly observed.

"Checkout is unavailable while we observe Shabbat. Please come back when checkout reopens at 5:45 PM ET Sat, Nov 23"

Odd that they don't allow checkout, but state that shipping will be delayed, instead. Seems like too much of an opportunity for lost sales.

edit: I completely understand why a Jewish-owned and operated business would choose not to process or ship orders on Jewish holidays. I was just surprised that they would even disable *ordering* on their website, when that function would be automated and not require the participation of a human.

Comparing this to a Fire tablet or A series Samsung tablet makes me immediately recoil.

Those tablets have so much lag that they are unusable imo. Is this at the same level? Major lag which makes you want to throw it against a wall?

I never used this model but Mediatek is a pile of crap. I once owned a Motorola phone with one such processor. Was praying for it to get damaged. Never did though, just tossed it out eventually when I was able to afford something else.

Right. Shabbat for some isn't just "taking a day off," but can extend to not using electrical devices on that day, for example.

Interesting. I'm by no means a techie but I've owned a fire HD10+ and now use an A series and have been thoroughly happy with my uses for them. If the Lenovo is even better and I had a need for a different tablet, I wouldn't hesitate at this price

Would this be any better than the ONN 10" Pro tablet from Wamart? That one has Android 14 and a little newer specs but less storage.

I don't recommend buying any Android tablet that doesn't offer guaranteed updates, too risky.

Lenovo update matrix:
https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/...ade-matrix

Only Android 14 but security updates till 2028.

I recently got it a month ago at Best Buy for $150 for the 128GB version. I primarily use it for a Dwarf 3 smart telescope because using a small phone screen for a telescope sucks. It was just as fast as my 3 year old A52 but not as fast as my recent A35. Both are mid-range phones. For web and apps it's fine. As long as you aren't 3D gaming. I am addicted to the Netflix games: battleship and minesweeper and those run fine. Also use it for controlling home things like smart switches, hvac, Wyze/Blink/Eufy cameras, shopping apps, etc... If you want a bigger screen for security cameras it's perfect. I have fire tablets and yes, they are faster but not having android apps keeps the tablet dusty....

Just get your screen protector and case from AliExpress. I got one with a strap so I can hang it on my neck then pull it up when I need to control the smart telescope. The screen protector came in a large foam box so it arrive perfectly!

You mean *certain* Samsung devices? You are speaking about this exact Lenovo but grouping all Samsung device(S) together?

BTW, this still qualifies for Android 14 and patches for another 4+ years. Not like you'll be likely rocking this tablet, or any tablet you bought in 2024 in 2029 Wink

4gb of memory is not going to get you too far past And14 anyways.
