look up lofta, just did it last year. Paid about $150 oop for the home test. Pretty smooth process, you do a quick preinterview with a PA/MD, they send out a kit. you send it back and depending on the results you schedule a quick call with a sales person and they send you the rx. You can then take it anywhere or shop at lofta for a cpap. They will also PM other prices if you find anything cheaper. The whole process probably took about 2 weeks for me, from getting the first consultation to having my cpap in hand.
Do you snore like a freight train do you awake in the middle of the night gasping for air then you might need it. Schedule yourself a sleep study quickly, if left unchecked can lead to heart issues, reduced life expectancy
If you think you snore and aren't getting a good nights sleep get a cheap digital recorder and record yourself sleeping. I did and it was scary. Scheduled a sleep study next day and have been using a cpap ever since.

Used the RESMED 10 for 5 years.
Used the RESMED 11 for last 12 months.
Similar results if the pressure range/tube temp/humidity are set specifically to your needs and you replace the hose/tank/headset/nose pillow as recommended. (shoutout to my sleep doc/sleep study lab at Northwestern/Central Dupage Hospital)

Note: the 11 is much easier to pack/shlep through the airport.

My toddler uses the AirCurve 10 bipap which doesn't appear to be on sale. I'd love to be able to buy one straight up (rather than pay monthly for it via insurance)
Does anyone know if the bipap models ever get big discounts like this? I'm pretty new to the cpap world.

I currently use an Airsense 10 every night, i was wondering if this is a worthy upgrade or if the Mini is more worth it as a second machine?
11 is superior in every way except the water tank.

Just remember there are studies shown that tie sleep apnea to onset of A-fib which can be life threatening.

Thanks to Slickdeals and OP for this.

A family member was using some CPAP machine as they have really bad sleep apnea. They lost their insurance the company took the machine back. Asked them if we can just purchase, they said $2500.

If we buy this, would we need some one from any medical offices or anything? I would really appreciate any insight or help here.

I literally just laid down and put my Resmed 11 on. I've had it for 3 days. Local shop charged my insurance $1700 of the machine, tube, and face mask stuff.
Not that I mind too much. I hit my insurance out of pocket maximum for the year, so let them over pay I guess.

Anyone have two 10s or 11s , one for travel/backup? I have the air res mini and absolutely hate it even if I sleep on my own because of how loud it is. I would much rather deal with the hassle of carrying the full sized machine. If I'm with others it is absolutely unbearable too.

Since airlines let us carry it for free, it is annoying but I can't seem to find a decent alternative that is quiter and easier to travel with than the air res mini that is potentially compatible with my air res masks.
I've been using the 10 for 4 years, have a Mini for travel, and bought a new 10 last year when it went on sale for $300 as a backup.

I made some adjustments to make the mini more noise reasonable. here is what i did and hopefully it helps you out too. First I got a plastic adaptor ($10) that hooks to the machine so you can use a standard hose. the airmini proprietary hose i dont like and also it seems to amplify the noise because of the way the proprietary humidifier is designed to fit into their system. after replacing with a standard hose, i attach the Breas Q-lite muffler ($30) at the machine end then attach a heat moisture exchanger on the mask end cause having no water is rough and something is better than nothing. the exchanger also helps a little with noise. lastly i use the airmini mounting system ($40) to mount the machine down low towards the bottom of the bed. having the machine down low somehow helps with noise and having it farther away from your head vs on the night stand seems to help isolates the noise. while it doesnt seem like much, it all adds up and the machine isnt much louder than an airsense 10 after all that. at least for me. your choice of mask will also help with noise but that is harder to change up. no point of trading comfort for less noise as either not working well enough for you will make you not be able to sleep regardless. I use a basic P10 pillow but i found that the masks that vent excess air out the top have less noise.

If only it was the bipap version. I'd buy a backup.

I can't comment on the 10, but I've had the 11 for over 2 years and really like it. The only thing I wish I would change is how you fill the water tank. Difficult to get to max level without spilling water.
Don't open it to fill, just flip on the side and fill through the holes. Never drips or spills that way!

Is this better than resmed 10? Reading conflicting articles
I tried the 10 before buying the 11. They use completely different blowers inside though I don't know enough to say which is better than the other. I do feel like the basic act of breathing in and out is smoother, more natural on the 11 but the 10 wasn't bad. The biggest reason for me was that the 10 is like a decade old and I'm afraid it will be discontinued whereas the 11 will be supported longer.

If you travel regularly, I think the mini is worth it.
