These types of containers are great but lids not so much. I bought similar set few months ago and two lids cracked. Contacted company and they replaced the lids but I see another one getting cracked. It won't last long. Not worth collecting waste.

I've had plenty of these lids last for years with no issues, so YMMV. But lid problems are the only complaints you usually see with Pyrex and they're a little more common than they should be. General rule is to always hand wash the lids to prevent warping and cracking.

I prefer sets that have only the larger pieces since the small ones are always too small and clutter the cabinet.

I too have had a fair amount of them crack. I think it happens over time, but to get new lids is about as costly as throwing them away and just buying new ones.

The lids on Pyrex are absolute garbage. Where can I buy the lids?

Mine all cracked. but so did the alternate brand I bought later. I don't use a dishwasher but I do microwave them for lunches.

The trouble with most multipacks is they make it seem like you get a lot for a little, but then you find half of it isn't very useful. This sale is a good discount, but there are more useful options for most people, I think.

Things small enough to fit in 1- or 2-cup containers are likely to be eaten by the end of the day and not need storing, or they're too small to make a full serving of any part of future meals. A handful of things you'd want to store, like leftover tomato paste or applesauce, would naturally fit in a 2-cup container. Calorie-dense snacks like nuts or dried fruit would also fit, but plastic or silicone bags are better for those.

Glass containers start to get more useful at 3 cups, but then there's the question of the benefit of a 3-cup container vs a 4-cup one. Typical recipe portions mean you'll need a 4-cup container much more often than the 3-cup, and they barely take up any more cabinet space.

Also, personally, I don't like rectangular containers. With few exceptions, like if you want to bake lasagna in a rectangular container and then store it in that shape, round containers work better or just as well. The more shapes you have the more awkward the containers will be to stack and store, and the more lids you'll have that aren't interchangeable.

I suggest buying multipacks of single sizes. To me the best starter arrangement for a single person needing prep and/or leftover storage for 2-3 meals is a set of two 2-cups, three 4-cups, and three 7-cups. That's a good balance.

Plastic lids aren't great, but they're cheap and widely available. It's harder to find better lids, like the kind Pyrex recently discontinued that combine glass and silicone. You can still get those, but from what I can tell it's only possible to find them in a couple of costly multipacks that have the same limitations as this one. Maybe some knock-offs exist.

Yeah, but the sizes are better and more useful realistically.

There are some silicone versions I've seen online, may end up getting those as they last much longer than these cheap plastic ones. Rather spend a little more on those, especially if on sale during the holidays, then buy a whole new set every few years just for the lids. They're only warrantied for 2yrs, then you're on your own to replace the lids!

I have mine for about 8 yrs now, use the 3 cups one the most for lunch everyday (I have 12 of the 3 cups for meal prep for my husband and I for the week). The lids look a little old due to everyday used but only 1 lids been cracked after about 6 years of used. However, we baby the lids, as of never putting them in microwave when heating up food, only handwashing the lids (glass parts goes into dishwasher). I know the lids said it's dishwasher safe, I put them in dishwasher a few times but look a little funny after so I stop.

Stop microwaving them. I take the lids off and put a paper towel over the food (keep food from getting all over microwave. My lids are about 8 years old and out of the 12 I use for lunch everyday, only one crack.
