This is the junk tier streaming services
Most people do just fine with Netflix + HBO Max + a service they get for free (Amazon Prime) without the need to sign up for a service with 10 shows and 50 movies

Now its available on Hulu so I don't need MGM+ unless the upcoming season 4 is delayed on Hulu
Movies - I am on YouTube free. There are some actual movies there that are free with ads. Are those ads removed if I buy YouTube Premium?
Subscription - It is only me and my wife. Will I have to buy the YouTube Premium Family plan so she can watch under her account ad free?

I do not see any ads on anything on Youtube. checked a movie, Interstellar ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IICGZ7Y
(edit: a lot of channels have paid content promotions where the ad is part of the program and you don't get around those)
I'm pretty sure you have to pay for the family plan if you have seperate accounts. But I haven't tested it.
I purchased MGM+ on the $0.99 deal last year to watch the 2nd season of From. I enjoyed From, although not as good as 1st season. Chapelwaite was also worth watching. I tried some other shows and could find anything I liked. Few movies as well If there is a series you like on MGM+, it could be worth the $0.99, but I wouldn't buy it unless there is something you are confident you will like.

I agree with you and other that many of these options are junk to me.
However, the deal includes services such as Paramount+ and Peacock that can be good for specific shows or live sports. The deal also has Apple TV+ for free for 3 months.
Examples like those last ones are potentially worth it to me. And I assume others.

That's the reason I only bought a one month ad free sub to watch the latest Godzilla, Dune, and some Shaymalan movies. I miss Redbox. It's perfect for those tentpole movies.
