I like Alienware, even though they are overpriced and underperform. I would totally go for this IPS panel if it were a little larger.

Alienware/Dell monitors are pretty solid, as monitors go. Good return policy/warranty. Generally easy to work with customer service.

co ask
this one comes with a lg panel, with 600 nit brightness
g2724d comes with an auo panel, with 400 nit brightness
it looks like the lg panel is top of the line (among lg, boe and auo)

I have hp x27q with LM270WQA-SSA2 panel from LG
this one has a newer LM270WQA-SSC2 panel from LG
would this one be significantly better than hp?
I know it is brighter (600 vs 400 nit)

I never bought on Dell site before, how's their return policy? From my quick search, it seems that they could charge you restocking fee if you return it simply because you don't like it, is it true?

from the same site:

The Dell Alienware AW2724DM is a higher-end model than the Dell G2724D, but they perform very similarly. The AW2724D has an overclock feature of up to 180Hz and a USB hub, both of which the G2724D doesn't have, and it also displays a wider range of colors in HDR. On the other hand, the G2724D has better text clarity as it doesn't have the same color fringing issues as the AW2724D, but other than that, both monitors are very similar.

My Amex card had $100 off $500 and ends 12/31/24 vs the $50 off 250.

Trying to figure out if it's time to replace my 10yr old Dell 1440p monitor. Then do I go for something like this or one of the QD-OLEDs that are on sale.
