I bought this direct this morning through jbl.com. If you use capital one Shopping you can activate their 2% offer and come back and an hour or two and it should show 27% cashback. And I also had a 10% off jbl.com from my AMEX. So it should be 37% indifferent reports

I have both 110 and 100 the difference is small. the 110 does have slightly better bass in my opinion. but yes the 100 gets a little louder.

the 110 does have better water protection. as for the weight difference I cant tell much of a difference. these are both heavy speakers. both can take a beating. the 110 i use around the pool and the 100s i use around the farm.


normally its the 100;s that go on sale for 199 not the 110.
I would get the 110 over 100 just for the extra water protection

Thanks for the great trip. I am on track to get 30% back from CapOne shopping, 10% from AmEx offer and another 3% CB from the credit card. Here's what I did:
Installed CapOne shopping extension on Chrome, went to jbl.com and activated 2% on the CapOne shopping extension.
Waited until I received an email from CapOne shopping saying: "A JBL deal for you. Earn 30% in Rewards, Up to $250"
Used the link in the email and bought the speaker for $199.95. For some reason, JBL didn't charge me any sales tax in Texas.

Does this speaker have to be plugged into the wall to get the full 160 watts? I read the power drops when just battery mode . Is this true ?

My family members have both models. This 110 is slightly better in volume but lack of physical controller for treble, bass and echo. You have to control those setting thru the App with the 110. The Encore is smaller and lighter. I would buy the Encore with 2 wireless microphones (sometime it's on sale for less than this 110)

I was in my local Walmart a few hours ago they had 3 of these marked $88. I asked the employee if that was the real price and he said yes at 6 AM Friday morning. YMMV
