I just called Verizon and got to their customer retention team saying I'd like to explore options on discounts since I'm also looking at going to T-Mobile.

They gave me a lifetime $25 discount + $10 discount per line for the next 12 months and I can call back after 12 months to extend basically ask for that discount again.

Now I'm a Verizon customer of 16 years and it is the week of thanksgiving aka black friday and cyber monday so they may pull extra strings.

I also think I am overpaying so maybe they gave me discounts to get to an average of what people are paying. I was paying $135 for 2 lines, now I'm at $90.

Take this as you wish but this is just my experience today the Monday before thanksgiving.

Guys , no need to call anyone i just did this one on my 9 lines with verizon. My bill down to $260

Just go to your account on verizonwireless dot com... go to devices--> offers. You will see that $10/line for 12 months on each of your line there. Just chat with rep , she will send a text on your line to confirm and that's it.

If you have this offer listed in your account under offer, no need for retention department.

My previous $10/line offer ended in October so this is my 2nd time taking this offer again.

My $10 per line per month Loyalty Discount also just expired. I made several calls to Verizon and was told by offshore CSRs that they were submitting a form to renew it and I would get a confirmation email within 5-6 business days. That never happened. Spoke with a NJ-based supervisor yesterday who told me that i was not currently eligible for the promotion but to check back in several months. Also told me that he would flag my account to notify me if the promotion came back. I'm not holding my breath on that either.

Just did the turn off number security and request port out pin routine in the app and within a few minutes, I got a popup to redeem a new $10 per line per month discount on both of my lines. Probably too soon to show on my next bill estimate but we'll see if this actually makes it to my bill over the next few cycles.

Same boat here. Not only did the $10 off per line end, buy they charged $9.xx per line on the last month. Did anyone of you get this prorated type charge?
I also switched over to the new Unlimited Welcome plan since it was about $9 less than the old discontinued plan now that the $10/line stopped and the $10 paperless/auto went down to $5 and also charging $3 for being in the old plan. So for 6 lines it's $27/line now. Oh and they're taking $20 off for 55+ for the account.
I'll try to call retention and see if they can do the $10 off/line for a year again, and $25 off lifetime.
I also got the prorated charge, which has to do with their confusing billing periods. It was actually legit since the discount did cross over into my current bill, but I was able to call and have it removed before I realized what was going on. You need to look at the period covered by the prorated charge, not the billing period on the bill itself. Also, see my other post about regaining the $10 off/line by turning off number security and requesting a port out pin in the app. No need to call retention unless you want to try for the $25 lifetime as well.

Able to get my monthly back to where it was it. Doesn't apply to current bill but I am fine with that.

You have to deal with AT&T's network. If you never leave major metropolitan areas, it's probably fine, but start going too far off the beaten path (i.e. a major interstate) and reception can get quite a bit more iffy really quick.

Verizon is a shitty company in a lot of ways, but not because of their network coverage. They've probably invested more into that than any other US carrier.
I've had AT&T for a decade and their network is solid, traveled all over the US on interstates without issue, I still have a line with them, multiple lines w Verizon and also lines with TMobile. all the carriers are actually pretty good nowadays, the biggest issue people run into (on any carrier) is deprioritization but that is more dependent on your specific plan not so much dependent on which carrier of the three you have

I just finished my $10 per month per line promotion. It lasts 12 months and at the end they WILL NOT extend it even after threatening to go to T-Mobile or AT&T. I had this fight with them just last week.
Hang up and call in again. Be nice and just ask if the $10 per line discount can be renewed. If they say no, hang up and call again.

My last $10/mo/line for 1-year loyalty offer just ended. I tried to repeat the steps that got me that discount (turn off number security, request port out pin, wait) once right away and again during the following billing cycle. The day after the more recent attempt, I received a text offering a $10/mo/ active phone line for a year, but it said to call 611 to activate the discount. No one knows anything about it, but they saw the text and told me it should automatically apply within two billing cycles. I am not afraid to follow their dispute resolution process if it doesn't happen, but for those who want to give it a go without talking to anyone - try this and good luck!
Is it 10.00 per line? Or account. We have 3 lines

I did the number unlock/Number pin transfer thing and it worked!! Thanks for the reminder. Just saved me $60/mo for all my lines. I tried this process when the loyalty discount ended last month and it didn't work. Thanks for reminding me to do it again.

Interesting reading all of the comments. ** I have only ever used Verizon Prepaid and always bought a card each month at the store. But - that Changed about 2 yrs ago.
Was having phone issues and went to the local Verizon store. One of the reps there looked at my phone and said that I should be getting a loyalty discount for being with them (for I think 2 yrs?, could've been 1 yr).
So he set me up and I was able to begin having my monthly payment taken from my credit card and no longer have to hassle with going to the store to purchase a card!
I now pay only $25 per month plus tax for unlimited calls and texts. Not sure what my cap is on internet use but this has saved me a Lot of money. I mostly use internet via wifi so that my phone doesn't exceed the limit each month.
So it may be Easier to go to your local Verizon store to inquire about this, rather than dealing with it via phone calls.
Hope this info helps someone.

When my $10 per line (I had 2 lines) loyalty discount ended, I called Verizon to see if they can extended since I've been a customer for over 20 years. CS said they would put a request ticket for it and they would respond in 5 days. Five days later they only offered $2 off per line. What a slap in the face. I told them to shove that $4 discount up their ass and switched over to tmobile.
