I just called Verizon and got to their customer retention team saying I'd like to explore options on discounts since I'm also looking at going to T-Mobile.
They gave me a lifetime $25 discount + $10 discount per line for the next 12 months and I can call back after 12 months to extend basically ask for that discount again.
Now I'm a Verizon customer of 16 years and it is the week of thanksgiving aka black friday and cyber monday so they may pull extra strings.
I also think I am overpaying so maybe they gave me discounts to get to an average of what people are paying. I was paying $135 for 2 lines, now I'm at $90.
Take this as you wish but this is just my experience today the Monday before thanksgiving.

Just go to your account on verizonwireless dot com... go to devices--> offers. You will see that $10/line for 12 months on each of your line there. Just chat with rep , she will send a text on your line to confirm and that's it.
If you have this offer listed in your account under offer, no need for retention department.
My previous $10/line offer ended in October so this is my 2nd time taking this offer again.
Just did the turn off number security and request port out pin routine in the app and within a few minutes, I got a popup to redeem a new $10 per line per month discount on both of my lines. Probably too soon to show on my next bill estimate but we'll see if this actually makes it to my bill over the next few cycles.
I also switched over to the new Unlimited Welcome plan since it was about $9 less than the old discontinued plan now that the $10/line stopped and the $10 paperless/auto went down to $5 and also charging $3 for being in the old plan. So for 6 lines it's $27/line now. Oh and they're taking $20 off for 55+ for the account.
I'll try to call retention and see if they can do the $10 off/line for a year again, and $25 off lifetime.
Verizon is a shitty company in a lot of ways, but not because of their network coverage. They've probably invested more into that than any other US carrier.

Was having phone issues and went to the local Verizon store. One of the reps there looked at my phone and said that I should be getting a loyalty discount for being with them (for I think 2 yrs?, could've been 1 yr).
So he set me up and I was able to begin having my monthly payment taken from my credit card and no longer have to hassle with going to the store to purchase a card!
I now pay only $25 per month plus tax for unlimited calls and texts. Not sure what my cap is on internet use but this has saved me a Lot of money. I mostly use internet via wifi so that my phone doesn't exceed the limit each month.
So it may be Easier to go to your local Verizon store to inquire about this, rather than dealing with it via phone calls.
Hope this info helps someone.
Thanks
