...and paid using Southwest credit card that's giving 7% cashback at grocery stores right now.

Vanilla visa credit card coupon is not working for me so I bought MasterCard and amex.

The register crashed. HEB customer support called the gift card number to get them to reset to no available. They ended giving me $20 HEB app credit.

I tried to buy all 3, but one wouldn't work. Supervisor ended up manually putting in $20 coupon. Not able to tell which one wasn't working but looks like it was the Visa

In Q4 last year, I bought 2 Vanilla Visa gift cards from HEB. They gave me lots of issues. First, they can no longer be used online though the back of my cards said it is valid online or in-store. I called customer service and was confirmed that they removed the online option due to security concerns because Vanilla Visa gift card used to work online without address registration (thus without address verification). Second, for a long period (at least a month), card balance check did not work either online or by phone. I had to call customer service just to check my card balance. Third, one of the two cards I bought was declined when I was making a payment at my car maintenance shop. I had to call customer service again to have the card replaced and waited for the new card to come in postal mail.

I am not saying 'don't buy it', But please be mindful and have your plan B in place in case things go wrong. I think the company is so messed up.
